1983 Renault Le Car for sale.... No reserve price... Please read carefully the description before you bid. Car was locally bought in 2009 with the purpose of being restored, it was driveable and has low mileage for the year. The car didn't look too bad at a first glance but a closer look to the condition of the body made me realize that the car has seen too many Northeast US winters and that it was better to find another one and use this one for parts. I was hoping to find another one that didn't need too much body work and swap the mechanics. It has been parked inside a tent in my backyard and occasionally I turn the engine on and let it run. Find below a more in depth description: Title: Car has a clear title transferable to the winning bidder. Body/Frame: Good for parts or for an expert that wants to spend the time fixing it. Good hood, all four doors are good with minimal surface rust, trunk door good, front fenders have rust but they seem repairable, rocker panels are shot, floor is shot, frame rust in multiple places underneath. wheels seem in good condition even tough I can't warranty the inside as I didn't dismount any tire. All glass is good except is missing passenger side mirror. Front and rear bumpers have some damage but with some work they could be fixed. Couple of rust bubbles all around but the paint still shines. Engine: Start, runs and idles but is not smooth I blame the 4 year old gas. Needs tune up but no strange noises or rattles. Oil is not new but no signs of water on it so there are no indications of any faulty heat gasket or a loose cylinder sleeve. 92425 miles. Transmission: Goes thru all the gears and there are no indications of problems with gearbox. Weak clutch. Electrical: System is charging and surprisingly the battery still holds charge after 4 years. Lights work,wipers work, some flickering with the instrument lights when the parking lights are turned on. Some instruments lights are out,Lights between the rear licence plate are cracked. Brakes: All brake fluid escaped like two years ago... Looks like there is a faulty brake line underneath the car as I noticed some wetness in one of them. They worked last time I drove it in 2010. Interior: Still looks good for the age and its clean, No holes that i noticed in the fabric. Missing parts: Spare tire,jack and lug nut wrench, radio is missing, fuse cover is missing. Sold as is... and no warranty of any type on a 31 year old vehicle, please contact if questions. Pick up only. Need to bring means to haul it away. Cash or Paypal payment only.
