It's a 1971 toyota hilux with a 8RC engine, and a 4 speed manual. It used to be my daily driver, but isn't perfect truck. It's a very dependable truck. I used to drive it every day 30 mins to and from work up until about 6 months ago. I've had it almost 2 years. Clear nc title in my name. New parts have been replaced within the last year. The good: -Engine was rebuilt(new crank, new bearings, new rings, etc.) now has about 10k miles on it. -Head was also rebuilt as the same time (resurfaced, valve seats ground, and all NOS valves were installed) -New timing chain kit -All new seals -Webber 36/32 progressive carb kit(which I'm not a real fan of) -New clutch and pressure plate -New throw out bearing -All new exhaust all the way back -New fuel pump -New throttle cable -New belt -New points -New dist. cap -New plugs and wires -New heater hoses -New wheel cylinders -New slave cylinder -New brake shoes -New rubber brake hoses all the way around -New battery -New ww tires -Sandblasted and paint the wheels and hubcaps -All exterior lights work as they should -New tail light assemblies -New pedal pads -New wipers -No rips in the seat -Plaid door panels -green metal flake steering wheel -Under the dash mounted tachometer -New fuel sending unit(doesn't read quite right, but works) -Mechanical temp gauge -New door seals -New front and rear window rubber (uninstalled) -Really solid truck considering its a toyota...bed is really solid -Decent heat, and defroster The bad: -It has normal small dings here and there from normal wear and tear. -Could use a new brake booster. The brakes work, but are not power right now. -It can be hard to start when it's hot, and has been sitting for 5 to 10 mins. -It does have some pinholes in the front floor boards. The previous owner put fiberglass cloth on the drivers side, but you can see its only small pinholes from underneath, I guess they did that to seal them off. -When driven in the rain the floor boards do leak a little bit.-There are some pinholes in the passengers side rocker under the door -The heater core leaks a little-Doors don't lock -Gas gauge works but read 1/2 when its really full. -The breather hose on the valve cover, is missing the screen filter inside the valve cover...so the air filter is soaked in oil, until that's fixed. Easy fix, just never have. -It's hard to start when its hot sometimes, mainly from the weber carb on it I think... This truck also comes with a 1971 Parts truck (for parts only) if you want it. It's not a perfect truck, but it's a good truck. It needs a few things fixed to be a daily driver again, but nothing really major. It's really solid considering its a 43 year old toyota.
