1978 GMC California 1/2 Ton Short Bed Truck The truck has power steering, air conditioning, and an overdrive transmission. I bought the truck new in 1977. It has the original 6 cylinder 250 engine. The engine was completely rebuilt. The rebuilt engine has 25,000 miles on it. The transmission is a 3 speed manual with overdrive. The truck is also equipped with power steering, air conditioning, tachometer, AM/FM radio, and a cassette player. The truck has 152,180 miles on it. ___________________________________________________________________________ Some of the things I have recently done to the truck are: I replaced the GMC grill with a custom one, replaced the GMC tailgate with a Chevrolet one. I lowered the truck using drop spindles in front and spring shackles in the rear, replaced the wood in the bed with 2x8 pressure treated lumber, and painted the truck with a good driver quality paint job. The windshield washers do not spray, but the windshield wipers work fine, the backup lights do not work, and the padded dash has a crack, which I repaired with clear silicone. The truck has chrome bumpers, the rear has a trail hitch, and the rims are chrome with very good tires. ___________________________________________________________________________ I have the original GMC grill, the factory front spindles, the rear spring shackles, and the rear cab glass. They go with the truck if you want them. If you want to pick up the truck in person, there are bus and train stations in Merced, CA. 8 miles from Atwater, CA. The Fresno Airport is 70 miles away. I can pick you up, and you can drive the truck home. This will save the cost of shipping it.
