1976 Porsche 911S Targa NO RESERVE. No games, no gimmicks this car will be sold to the highest bidder. This is a running and driving 76 Targa but it has been sitting over the last few years and could use some TLC. The previous owner has recently passed on and this car is out of his small collection. The car was purchased in the Carolinas approximately 20 years ago, then driven to Iowa and used sparingly in the summer months since. The car has had a poor quality respray at some point in time (while in the Carolinas we presume) and looks good from 25 feet away, but has many flaws from poor paint prep upon close inspection. The car appears to me to have always been red and I found no evidence of any prior collision damage anywhere during my quick walk around. It runs and drives fine but has a hunting idle and 5th gear and reverse are somewhat difficult to engage. The shifter is vague, the interior door handle is broken and the radio is missing. I am sure it will drip a little oil and it smells a bit like gas when running. The drivers door drags a bit when you open and close it. The fog lights do not work, nor do the high beams. All the other exterior lights seem to work fine. The car is ready to be enjoyed as is by a mechanically savvy owner or is all there and ready to be completely restored. I have road tested this car to interstate speed and it drives just fine but I would not recommend driving it long distance without a thorough once over, a stocked toolbox and sense of humor. The engine runs strong through the gears and I noticed no expensive noises during my short drive doing 70 MPH.
