Vehicle Detail
This car is one of 287 FrankSinatra Edition Imperials ever built. They only came in Glacier Blue to match Frank's eyes. The interior is Sky Blue leather with Platinum gray carpets. It has spent all of its life in Southern California so no rust issues that I have seen. I purchased the car several months ago with the intention of restoring it but, Momma wants a new kitchen. There goes my restoration budget! There are just over 68K original miles on the odometer. I don't have documentation to verify that but the speedometers on these cars go to 199,999 so I suspect it is accurate. The 1981 through 1983 Imperials were a very special desire of Lee Iacocca's during his reign at Chrysler. He wanted a high end luxury car and spared no expense to achieve this goal. There was a dedicated factory in which only the most experienced employees could work. The roof, deck lid and quarterpanels have heavier metal for road noise reduction so they have a very quiet ride. A fuel injected 318 was the engine chosen to power these gorgeous cars, however, the system turned out to be troublesome so most, including this car, were converted to conventional carburation. You can go to AllPar(dot)com and search for the Frank Sinatra Edition Imperial and read the history of this wonderful car. Things to know: The hood, roof and deck lid are faded. There is a crease in the right rear quarter behind the wheel well as can be seen in the pictures. The right outer mirror is broken. The interior is good except for the A and B pillar material is degraded. Should be fairly simple to recover with new material. No holes or tears in the seats with one extremely minor exception on the driver’s seat. Refer to the picture. Headliner is ok except for some “sagging” around the passenger side seat belt roof anchor. Also pictured. The “Informations Center” above the radio does not appear to function but not sure if is a fuse, non-functional or I just have not figured out how to use it. Radio works fine on AM and FM. The engine runs and the car drives but it has been in storage since 2005 so will need a complete check before general use. The windshield has a crack. All otherglass is in good condition. I received none of the Sinatra cassettes that came with the car when it was purchased new. The umbrella is, however, there and appears to be in good condition. Over all, the car is in good condition but deserves a restoration to its former glory. Don't pass on this car and kick yourself later. I would be happy to answer any and all questions in the event I have not covered it in the ad. If you would like to speak to me on the phone, please give me a call, 253-839-0235. I have two additional pictures of the left side but they were too large to download onto Ebay. I don't have the techinical savey nor the proper program to resize them. However, I can email them upon request.Buyer responible for all shipping arrangements but I am certainly willing to help your designated shipper from this end.One last thing. If the buyer chooses the "Buy it Now" option, I will include an uncut, gold plated, Cartier Crystal adorned ignition key. These keys were very limited and given to qualified dealers at the unvailing of the Imperial. Very rare indeed. Note: Although two gold keys are pictured, only one will be included with the car. I can't bring myself to part with both. Good luck and happy bidding!
