Vehicle Detail
Thanks for taking a look at my auction. This auction is for a 2007 Triumph Bonneville Black motorcycle with only 475 original miles. Why are the miles so low? Simply put - life got in the way! I purchased the Bonnie in May of 2008 with the intention of riding and keeping it stored in Manhattan (New York City) where I was living at the time. While searching for a reasonably priced parking garage, the bike was stored in the garage at my parent's house (~30 miles away). Shortly thereafter, I meet my future wife who is not keen on the idea of me riding in the city so the motorcycle never made its way into Manhattan and remained on a battery tender charger at my parent's house. My rides were limited to weekends in the spring/summer when visiting. Fast-forward a few years, my company relocates us to California, where we currently reside, and the motorcycle is now thousands of miles away. With a heavy heart, I've come to the conclusion that I may not be riding much in the near future and the time has come to see the motorcycle in the hands of someone who can actually enjoy riding it! The motorcycle is slightly modded and all work was done by a professional shop (receipts in hand). I may actually be forgetting all of mods (if so they were very minor) that were done but here is a list of what I am certain of: Fork gaiters (for that retro look) $38 Ikon adjustable shocks $349.95Air injection removal kit $34.99Aftermarket handlebars (forget the name) $? Aftermarket grips (also forget the name) $?Labor and tax ~$300Now for full disclosure, I had my brother take the motorcycle out of the garage in February (2014) to take the pics that you see here. The motorcycle though covered seems to have acquired a layer of dust which with some elbow grease should bring the shine back. It's unfortunate that I'm this far away otherwise I would have taken the time to clean it up. Also, while I have been away, my brother would start the motorcycle on occasion just to keep the fluids moving. He also stores his motorcycle in the same garage so it wasn't too much of an inconvenience for him. In February, he was unable to start the motorcycle. These carbureted motors are notorious for being tough to start when temps are low which in this case it was below freezing outside and around 50 degrees in the garage. Also, it may be very possible that the gas in the carb may have gummed up the jets which would require disassembly and cleaning (if you know your way around a carburetor, this is no big deal). Perhaps this is also the reason for the motorcycle not starting. The motor was turning over just fine. Previously, the motorcycle was running fine when I rode it briefly in the spring of 2013. In any case, the motorcycle will be sold as-is. The motorcycle has a clean title which I have in hand with me in California. Delivery of the motorcycle will originate in New York (Long Island) where it is stored. If the winning bidder decides that he/she would like to pick up the motorcycle, that would be fine, and I would ask that we sort out the payment before or at the pick up location. My brother will help facilitate the delivery/pick-up logistics. $500 deposit due immediately upon auction end. I have been a casual seller/buyer here on eBay. Please allow my feedback score to provide you with some sort of confidence as a buyer. I think I am being reasonable with my reserve price as I would really like to see this motorcycle go to someone who (hopefully) will put it to use! Please do not bid if you have less than 5 positive feedbacks. As a side note, my wife is 37 weeks pregnant which also means we could have a new arrival at any moment so please forgive me if there is any delay in responding to your inquiries! On Mar-31-14 at 00:32:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry, Im not sure how I managed to post the original description twice. I meant to make one minor edit which was that the gas cap is a Triumph lockable gas cap (OEM Triumph part). In any case, I also wanted to add that shipping/delivery cost and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. I cannot deliver, arrange for shipping, nor can you ride the bike home. Here is how it will work: upon successful auction end, the highest bidder will provide a good-faith deposit of $500 to me via PayPal. This is for me to hold the bike for you until we can successfully complete the transaction. If you do not complete the transaction, I will not refund your deposit. Please do not bid if you are not able or willing to follow-through with the transaction. I will contact the highest bidder and we will discuss remaining payment and delivery of the motorcycle. Please do not ask me to end the auction early. Please do not ask me "how much for the bike?" - this is an online auction, not the classifieds in your local paper. Bike will go to the highest bidder. Felt like I needed to make myself clear...getting some great questions and ones that make me scratch my head... There is a lot of interest in the bike and I may not be able to get to all of your questions. Over 100 watchers and reserve has been met.
