Up for auction is my 1961 Corvette, red with red interior with matching hardtop . it was manufactured in the St. Louis plant and was 7,016th car of 10,261 built in 1960. It was originally sold in the USA location unknown then registered in Canada in 1980 in Ontario then in Kelowna BC from 1981 to 2003 where it changed hands in 2003 till I bought it.I have owned this car for about 6 years and I have a clear title in my name. The car is a very presentable driver, always garaged, it runs great, fast, starts and stops very nice. I am selling it as a private party and I am not a dealer, there are no other fees or paperwork costs involved besides the final auction price.The Corvette has been driven occasionally in the last couple of years. The speedometer shows 48,166 miles. I disconnected the speedometer a year ago when the front end was upgraded. The car may have been driven 500 miles since then. The speedometer cable needs to be reinstalled.BODY: the paint is an 8 on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being perfect. It was painted before I bought the car and has held up great. It shines very nice but does have normal imperfections such as minor paint chips and scratches. The body is straight and has good fitment. The doors, hood and trunk open and shut as they should. The hardtop fits nice and tight and is in ok shape, the paint, chrome and headliner all look great but the hardtop windows show age and should be replaced The hood vent opens and closes and works as it should. The bumpers and chrome all shine and look great. The windows roll up and dow. The trunk looks factory and it does have the back red divider panel (not seen in the trunk picture) and the correct floor rubber mat.INTERIOR: The interior is in great condition, nice carpet, great seats and cushions. The door panels and dash pad also look nice. All the oil, temp, volts, and gas gauges work and look restored, the radio is aftermarket with remote, the window wiper motor works and the wipers keep the window clear. The cigarette lighter works, the lights, blinkers, high beams, horn and courtesy lights. The doors lock and unlock and have the key. The heater works on low and high and blows hot air, the defrost levers all work normal and the duct work is complete and nice. the fuse panel and wiring is like new and looks great. CHASSIS: the frame is solid and rust free with no damage or repairs. The suspension and brakes have been upgraded to Steeroids rack and pinion steering and ididit column and new connections . Zoops products power steering unit, Ecklers front disc brake conversion kit.The car runs , steers and turns great. New white wall tires about 1000 miles ago.DRIVETRAIN: The engine is a Chevrolet 327 . It has a Street Eliminator manifold Rochester Quadrajet carburetor High Energy Competition cam compression is 10.5 to 1. The car has plenty of power and very fast and looks nice under the hood. It has new rebuilt 200-R4with a shift kit Borg Warner friction kit.It was professionally built in 2011. The radiator is original and works fine with no leaks. The mufflers are the factory style with the original style tips exiting out the rear bumper OVERALL: overall this is a nice corvette that gets lots of attention, it can be driven anywhere and has been very dependable for me.TERMS OF SALE: Any non-paying bidders will be reported, please have all your financing or permissions in order before bidding. The Steeroids kit changes the steering from about 3.5 turns from lock to lock to 2.7 turns this makes it way more responsive and easier then add the power steering and it is even better. My wife had a difficult time with it in stock and now it is a breeze. The 200R4 automatic is a 4 speed with overdrive so it cruises like a modern car and probably gets better gas mileage even though I have never checked it. The front disc brakes are very responsive and eliminates the brake fade which occurred with the stock drum brakes. Over all the Corvette drives and cruises like a modern automobile yet still looks like a classic going down the road. You will not be disappointed. Please call if there are more questions.
