Vehicle Detail

1976 Mercedes 300D Clear Virginia Title Current Virginia InspectionAS-IS Ebayers with less than 10 feedback, must contact me before committing to bid, buy it now, make best offer. Or it WILL be canceled. This is a W115 Mercedes 300d. The mileage is listed as 110,010 (I believe it to be more than this). We drive this car almost every day. It has been a daily driver for the past 3 years (since it was obtained). These 300d’s are incredible machines. It has been very dependable for us. The brake system on this car –is just amazing. They work fantastic! It still rides much smoother than most, though not as good as it should. A quick look at the pictures says it all, it’s not a looker….. In the early 90’s it was repainted by an authorized MB shop (to remedy the peeling clear coat) sadly this was no help. When it’s waxed, it looks pretty good. The interior is very usable. The driver’s seat is torn on the side. Also the headliner has come away from the rear window. It is no show piece... The car drives well enough. The transmission plus strong-no slippage. In fact it shifts hard at times, this could be adjusted with the rods and things. We have never had a problem with it. There is a vibration that can be felt while driving. The motor mounts have hardened. The car does have its share of rust. None of it is a structural issue (everything opens, and closes just fine). The rockers are solid. It is mainly consisting of the floor boards, and around the corners. The floors have been “repaired” with sheet metal-and are solid. In the pictures it may be hard to tell. All of the mounts are solid underneath. Also the windshield seals will need to be replaced. This is what caused the rust in the first place…. Also as seen in the pictures the trunk is mostly solid(with the exceptions of the small areas seen). In the past few months it has developed a bit of “vague-wandering” in the steering. It looks to be due to worn front end components. All of which are easy, and very reasonably priced to obtain {Autohaus AZ-a fantastic company}. Through the winter we kept the block heater plugged in. From about 50 degrees and up it starts just fine by its self. A diesel purge would greatly help this on colder days. There are a few things that do not work at this time. Cruise control. The A/C is unhooked. Heater fan is intermittent. The sun roof has a wiring issue. Passenger side window is stuck a few inches open-motor issue. The driver’s window works, but is slow. There have been many things done, replaced-or repaired in these 3 years, here are just a few: Monark Injector Nozzle’s StarterOil Cooler HosesValve Adjustment Rebuilt fuel pump Valve cover-and oil pan gasket Speedometer cable Fuel Filter Change New Battery Rear Brakes Pirelli Brake hoses Trunk seal Shifter bushings Tires Repacked wheel bearings Head light Radiator hosesFuel Hoses Misc. fluids Center link Steering coupling We have installed the fast style glow plugs (far better than OE type). From reading all of this, the car can use some work -as follows: Windshield seals Front end Components, and soon 1 tire (due to these parts) Motor Mounts, and other Misc. Bushings Affix the driver’s seat more solidlyJauge cluster isn't firmly affixed to dash-can not fall out Tighten wiper arm Signal light stalk will not hold itself-common MB trait. Not really a problem, but it has a small oil leak. Another diesel trait-gaskets included to stop it! The clock, temp jauge-are not working. This car has never had any problems with overheating, or coolant leaks. I’m sure there’s more but it eludes me at this moment. The car needs work. None of it too serious, or shockingly expensive. Many extra seals, gaskets, and hoses will come with it. Also ALL of the service manuals in PDF format. The car is still driven quite a bit, so the mileage may increase a tad. The car is located in Maurertown, Virginia 22644 Please be sure to read, and ask all questions BEFORE a placing bid, buy it now, best offer. Your bid is a contract to buy! I must receive contact within 24 hours of purchase. If no contact is made, bid WILL be canceled-and a report filed. I am willing to deliver this car within 50 miles FOR FREE! It can be driven the way it is. Other than that, you are welcome to get it however you like. The car MUST be paid for in full within one week of listing ending, before delivery-or pickup.Unless otherwise previously arranged. Cash in person, or PayPal is welcome. There is a $70.00 deposit due at the time of purchase (NON-Refundable). With that said, I do make mistakes-so please ask all questions up front. It would be refundable if I grossly miss described something. I could consider other vehicles towards the purchase price. I like numerous things-Peugeot, Panhard, Citroen, Renault,Hillman,NSU,Alfa Romeo,Maserati, Royal Enfield, Older motorcycles. Odd or strange vehicles. I really could use some Peugeot 203-403 parts. A whole engine, or car would be fantastic..... Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments, etc. Good Luck & Happy Bidding!!
