Vehicle Detail
If you have been searching for a clean first generation 4Runner, you have found it... And no time too soon as we seem to be having a long and ugly winter. This adult owned classic is one of the few unmolested trucks from this special class of 4x4. I have used this Toyota as a pleasure vehicle as I have other cars for daily driving. Title is clean. Fresh registration for the year. It passed the nation's most stringent emissions exam with fantastic results. Powerplant is the coveted 22RE, a fuel injected model long considered one of the best engines in history. Motor has been rebuilt (paperwork on hand) and approximate mileage is about 14,300 at this time (rebuild just after 180,xxx). I have some video/audio of cold starting vehicle and letting it run. If you wish to view it, see lower page. Transmission shifts smoothly. Steering handles with finger-tip control thanks to replacement of the expensive steering gear and pitman arm. Of course, I balanced that with a fresh idler arm. Then I topped it off with new ball joints… This truck is really set to go. All my vehicles are very well cared for and I keep them mostly original or restorable to stock. This one features a few select upgrades that appeal to those interested in this class of truck. Full tubed rock sliders are securely mounted on both sides. It has a 2 inch lift (with 31 inch tires in the photos). I have used beefy 33 inch tires in the past. I also have a frame correct chrome push bumper added which is a very expensive and hard to find item. Fog lights mounted to it are powered via switch on lower dash. The interior is correct SR5 trim with matching seats and side paneling. The dash features the SR5 gauges and the super rare rally pack of mid-dash instrumentation. Stereo is a Pioneer with cd. I am not a music person so CD aspect does not get any use. I do not know if it works properly well or not. The radio does work and features a removable face. I think there are 3 fm and 2 am memory banks... And a clever bass booster knob with multiple levels. The upgraded speakers have NOT required cutting the interior trim. The custom steering wheel is not going with the sale. Rest assured it has been replaced with the stock 4runner grey wheel that is in very nice condition. The impossible to find center console is sturdy and fully-functional with replaced hardware and custom increased padding. Both compartments secure with working latches. The removable top weather stripping is supple and free of the freeway whistling so prevalent on many trucks. The headliner is smooth and snug. I have all of the delicate and super rare trim paneling in place to cover the roof bolts. All rear compartment doors are in place and working properly. Even the original jack, tool kits, spare tire hook, and factory traction grip are still in the wheel storage wells. The rear carpeting can be easily pried back to reveal a steel truck bed for hauling messy items. Bed has steel loops and a strong roll bar for fastening cargo in transit. The power rear window motor rolls up and down and the lock mechanism is functional. The rear wiper motor is also working. Panels are clean and there are no obscene holes cut out for speakers or accessories. A/C system is currently installed but not charged. Living by the beach, I can move plenty of fresh air through the cabin via the mini front windows and the dual-panel rear sliders. The undercarriage is 'California clean' of the destruction seen in so many trucks in other parts of the country. I have a pro flowmaster muffler and an upgraded converter for smooth exhaust transfer. All metal heat shields are in place. Even the often dry-rotted and discarded rubber wheelwell and hatch dust/mud flaps are present and functional. Bidding and payment; First, you are bidding to own, not look or dream. Secured payment through a major bank transfer or cashiers check accompanied by photo identification. Selling in AS-IS, Where-Is condition with NO Warranties, expressed or implied. This vehicle is healthy and I would not hesitate to take it out of town at a moment's notice. However each person has a different idea about how to operate their automobile. If I were to keep the truck in my collection, I might consider replacing the rubbing-etched rear door glass with an optional heated glass version (switch is included in dash). If you are the type of owner who likes a flawless and pretty appearance, a refresher of the original paint could look quite striking against the chrome accents. As seen in photos, the body has its share of nicks and scrapes and some damage around one rear taillight that does not affect the electronics or the fixture in any way. Seller reserves right to end auction early and cancel all bids if necessary. Bidding on this item means you understand all stipulations and information conveyed in the above paragraphs and are proceeding with full knowledge and intent to purchase, transport and own this vehicle. You further agree to hold seller blameless for any damages in shipment and any issues surrounding titling, insuring, registering or operating vehicle in your area or state.
