DISCRIPTION IN A NUT SHELL::::::::::::: For your consideration I'm selling a good looking 1966 Mustang coupe with factory air conditioning. The engine is a 289 cubic inch V8, the transmission a C4 3 speed automatic, the rear-end 8 inch with a good highway gearing, the paint is nice, to me its a rare color "sauterne gold", its sort of a silver/gold with lots of metallic. The interior goes perfectwith the paint, I think they call it ivy gold with white and its the upgrade pony. The car drives good and has power steering, itstops good for drum brakes, the lights work, even the horn and interior lights work. The fuel gauge works as well as the speedometer, the horn works. The car has a after market radio that is not working, the dash was not cut, its one of the perfectfit radios. The wheels are nice style steel that were a factory option, the tires are good BF Goodrich 14 inch. The glass is clearand the chrome shines good, the worst thing I see on the car is several pits in the bumpers, but all the other bright work is nice. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam. IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS? It looks real good to me! I don't see any rust problems with this car, it looks like most old cars on the under-side. Not painted beautiful and detailed, some rusty color metal, no big swelled places or rusty holes. I this a solid car. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I see. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? I’m a 67 year old retired mechanic/classic car restorer/auto mechanics intructor, when I find a car I like, can sell for a fair market price and make a few bucks, I buy it fix a few things and resell. PAINT: Very shinny presentable paint that look nice and shines good. The car has no big dent, no bubbles, no peeling, 4 or 5 touched up stone chips, it look straight to me when I look down the sides. This is very decent paint, its just not a $15,000 paint jobthat is hauled to the show in a trailer and rolled out on show day. Its a good looking paint job to drive and enjoy. CHROME AND BRIGHTWORK: The emblems look good, the stainless steel around the windows looks good, the bumpers shine good, but have lot of pits. WHEEL TRIM: If you don't like the wheel well trim, let me know and I'll take it off. Its after market and fits good, but we all havedifferent taste. INTEROR: The upholstery is very nice, no smells and no real wear, the head liner is nice, the dash pad not cracked, door panels good, I think the color is ivy gold and white and its the up grade Pony interior. GLASS: The sides window roll up and down decent, the windshield is clear. ENGINE: The engine is a good running Ford 289 cubic inch, it starts good, it runs good, it has no rattles, it has no knocks and I see no blue smoke. I will give no guarantee that it won't leave a drop of oil on you nice clean floor, but it has no bad leaks. EXHAUST SYSTEM: The dual exhaust is in good used condition. TRANSMISSION:Its a 3 speed automatic that shifts good, its a Ford C4. REAR-END: No whines or growls, its a 8 inch. BRAKES: Good brakes, they are not power. STEERING: The car is power steering, I think it drives good. WHEELS AND TIRES: Wheels look very good, they are the factory option Style Steel. The tires are 14 inch and have lots of wear left, they are made by BF Goodrich. LIGHTS: They work, turn signals work, headlights work, tail lights work, brake lights work, interior lights work. FOG LIGHTS: They look new and are not connected, I guess past owner was like lots of guys and just put them on for the look. Air conditioning::::: It works and the heat probably work, the blower works and it is hooded up. SPEEDOMETER WORKS! GAS GAUGE WORKS! Wipers work! Horn is working! The after market radio is not working. GAUGES: The work! UNDERSIDE: Not beautiful or detailed for show, but it looks very solid to me. Some crusty looking places where the undercoating is loose. HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE? OK for a Mustang. HOW IS THE PANEL FIT? Normal Mustang fit, that's not perfect, but much better than most. CAN I DRIVE THE CAR HOME? The car drives good and everything I have checked is in good condition, but I do not recommend driving any old car home. Reason, I test drive them like a garage doing repair work would, I do not take long trips in them, so it worries me when people head out in a old car.
