Auction Requirements: $500.00 non-refundable Paypal deposit due within 48 hours of winning auction. Balance owing due within 7 days of winning auction. Preferable form of payment for the balance is by money order or cashiers check, Paypal as a last resort due to high fees. The title to the 240Z will be sent to the new owner once full payment is received. Shipping arrangements, from it's current location only, are the full responsibility of the new owner. I will assist with the loading of the car if needed. Being that it is a 40 year old vehicle, and one that I haven't driven much more than a total of 50 miles since I've owned it, I would highly suggest shipping it if it's any distance. It is sold as-is, where-is. There is no way for me to say if it will make it on the road to your house. Bidders with 0 feed back NEED to contact me PRIOR to placing a bid or your bid will be erased and blocked. I want it to be fair for true interested people and I don't want to waste anybody's time. This is a NO RESERVE auction! Bid to win! Up for auction is my 1971 Datsun 240Z. I bought it last year from a family who had owned it for the past 35 years. The lady's father brought it up from California. He was obviously very passionate about this car! She told me he liked to take it to the track occasionally as a hobby. He replaced the original motor with an L28 motor out of a 280Z and mated it to the original 4 speed transmission. It has a new radiator and a new exhaust system from the manifold on which sounds great. The L28 was fitted with a set of dual Weber carbs and topped off with K&N air filters. I was told it is all smog legal for California, I can't verify that. There is a newer rear sway bar and all the brakes have recently been gone through and work great. All glass is good and it currently has a set of Yokohama tires with decent tread but starting to show some weathering. As you can see in the pics, the weather striping around the doors are dried up. The wipers currently aren't working, I haven't had time to check them out. The car cleans up well and I would call it a great 20 footer as far as the paint is concerned. It has been repainted the original color at some time in the past and has some small areas that are peeling and revealing the original paint underneath and there are a few minor dings hear and there which are hard to see but worth mentioning. The body appears to be very solid. The only rust through that I have found is a small spot in the drivers side floor pan near the fire wall that I show in the pictures. The seat backs are in good shape but the seat bottoms are needing repaired. The door panels are in good shape except along the bottoms they are detatched and a little warped. The dash has a few cracks in the top but otherwise in good shape. All the gauges work including the clock. It has an older Alpine stereo that powers on but no sound, probably speakers. The electric antenna still works! There is no carpet in the rear and a couple rear plastic panels are missing. The headliner is in excellent shape. I've driven the car a couple times and it runs and sounds great. It shifts through all the gears as it should. This little Z is a rocket ship and handles like it's on rails! I was told it spent more time sitting the last few years than it did being driven. I believe the carbs need some adusting as it needs to have the choke left on for it to run at its best, they seem to be running too lean. It does smoke when it is cold but clears up once warm. Could be valve guides or just needs to be driven more? Also included in the auction is a couple boxes of extra parts collected over the years by the previous owner. There is gauges, wiper and blower motors, various fasteners, electrical parts, drivers door glass, etc. I took a picture of most of the items. There also is a tub full of 240Z memorabilia including old magazine ads (some framed), magazines and several repair manuals, very cool! It still has the old Idaho license plates on it since I haven't licensed it myself. I do have a clean and clear Washington state title in my name and ready to sign over. The odometer currently works and reads 69,687 miles, I have no way of verifying if this is actual. Follow this link for a short video of the car http://youtu.be/vrvHG2R-y9M Once again, this is a NO-RESERVE auction so bid to win and good luck This is a great little collectable sports car sure to put a smile on the new owners face!
