Vehicle Detail
Here is the story of my BMW r1100 rt/p. I bought this bike originally form the state of South Carolina. I bought several of them over the years. I have owned about 12 of them. This was one of the last ones I bought form the state about 6 years ago. I have rebuilt more than a few. This one came to me runnig well but with a broken left side peg plate and a leaking transmission. I had the peg plate welded and replaced the transmission with a regular r1100 rt transmission I also put in a complete new clutchkit a the time as well.. I also have in the last year put in new very high end battery, new windshield, completely bled brake system and replaced fluid in brake system and put in a new rear ABS sensor, new spark plugs adn tuned/balanced the carbs. Its also has a set of tires that have less than 1200 miles on them both on front and back. I originally fixed this bike up for my father who has ridden it to my house many times over a hundred miles fom rhis home to see me over the years. I had one and he had one. Matching set. We drove all over the place together. I had kids and ended up having to sell mine and about 6 months ago my dad called and told me he couldn't ride aymore and asked if I wanted to buy his back from him. I paid him $2900.00 for the bike and then brought it home and began fixing it up again for me to ride. I was pretty happy about having one of these again. They are the best highway bike you could ever own. Anyhow, I got in a pretty serious wreck last Jan and I can 't really ride very comfortably any longer. My last trip on the bike was from Anderson, SC to Cherokee, NC about three months ago. I pulled it out of the garage today and she cranked right up. Took her for a little spin up to the gas station and filled her up with premium. (only use premium) She purrs like a kitten. Tee bike does have scratches around it like any 2000 would. I put new bars on the front for my dad too. They were 300+ per. I also got a set of BMW Hard cases for the back and replaced the smaller silver police cases with the bigger black ones. Makes going on trips nice when you can unlock your luggage and just carry it in with you to the hotel. Right mirror and oilhead have scratches on them. ALL RADIOS AND POLICE SIRENS LIGHTS HAVE BEEN REMOVED..The choke on the bike does not work, I don't know why and taking the mechanism out that controls throttle and choke is a real bear and its really not necessary. I start the bike and rev it to about 3k rpms until the oil pressure rises and then it runs fine once warms up shes a happy cruiser. I have sold several of these on EBAY and never had an unhappy client. I've met more than one buyer at the airport and had them drive off into the sunset. This is the last one I'll ever have though. I wish I could keep her but I can't handle riding anymore myself. Back can't take the pressure. It has all kinds of real cool adjustment features form the angle of the break lever in your hand, to seat hight, to electronic heated grips, electronic up and down windshield, shift lever height adjustment, accessory plug.... It was originally a highway patrol motorcycle. Check it out online. Its a real nice ride. I am in Anderson, SC if you would like to arrange a personal look see call me 864-346-5885 and I will make arrangements to meet you. Good luck and happy bidding. I took lots of photos so you can bid with confidence. These bikes were maintained by the BMW dealership in Greenville while in service with the state of SC. Were kept in very good condition. Good luck and happy bidding.
