Exterior White paint is in very good condition as are Black leathers, new convertible top, dash, carpets, et al. Mechanically restored to high standard, this car runs and drives very well. Enthusiasts and collectors worldwide know that the Sprite is a small open sports car that is incredibly fun both to look at and to drive. The Sprite was first announced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) in Monte Carlo in May 1958 just before that year's Monaco Grand Prix. The Sprite was made at the MG sports car factory at Abingdon. The little Sprite quickly became affectionately known as the Bugeye in the US and the Frogeye in the UK, because its headlights were prominently mounted on top of the bonnet, inboard of the front wings.
