Vehicle Detail

Up for sale today is a 1973 ford F 250 factory Highboy and is a California truck with original factory paint. I parked this truck few years ago because it quit charging and I didn’t have the time to mess with it, plus I was just finishing up on another truck and driving that instead as a pleasure vehicle. I have started this truck up from time to time and changed the oil while in storage. I would drive this truck across country with no hesitation after the charging system was repaired. The video of this truck running was on 3 plus year old gas. The Engine was rebuilt 4 years ago and has a 390 with a 10 quart oil pan and has around 4000 miles on the engine. I can’t find any of the paper work on the engine; the engine runs real strong one of the strongest Ford FE 390 engines I have ever owned, with a rebuilt C 6 transmission behind it. The truck had a new dual exhaust and a battery and the radiator replaced at the time of rebuild. The truck has manual steering. I have never used the 4 wheel drive part of this truck so I can’t tell you anything about the transfer case or the front axle due to the fact I have never had a place to try it out. I have put it in 4 wheel drive on the street and the transfer case seems to work with no noises. This truck runs as strong as any good old muscle car and will make a great truck to restore and as you can see in the photos there is no rust and I will include two California fenders with this deal. The body absolutely has no rust at all and has original paint on it. There are a few things that need to be addressed with the body such as the hood has some primer on it; the bed has small drill holes along the top where there was a tool box at one time and a small dent on the top rail. Both front fenders have small cuts in them to clear the big tires. I was going to lift truck but never did. Like I said I will give 2 ford fenders in real good shape as part of the sale. All the molding seems to be on the truck and looks to be straight enough to restore. The inside seat needs to be redone and a dash pad needs to be replaced due to a small crack. It does have an aftermarket radio in it. If you ever wanted one of these trucks to restore or just have as a good driver this truck is it. The truck is at the body shop to have everything done mechanically to it and body and paint done on it and if it doesn’t sell I will have the truck painted and all mechanical repairs done with the inside work done and once I do that I will be asking a lot more for it. As you can see the truck needs a good bath inside and out like I said it has been in storage for over 3 years. I made a video for YouTube and that was the first time I ever beat the truck like that. The truck is tough and once again would make a nice truck to drive or easy restore and make a big eye turner. This truck sets every car alarm off when cruising through a parking lot. The bad: The truck is not charging right now, and you will have to figure that out, the heater core is not hooked up, not sure if it leaks but if I had to guess I would say it does. The factory fuel tank is not in the truck, the truck has two saddle tanks in it now. I have everything to put the factory style tank back in it and that will go with the truck. The body has no rust that I can see, but has two trim spots on the front fenders, some holes drilled in the top of the bed rail which are easy to repair, and the truck has some small dents here and there. I had the body shop look at the truck and they said overall the truck looks to be in real good condition and will be an easy truck to restore. I would like to note that this truck is not a good truck to give to your son or daughter for a first time vehicle as it has too much power and they will only get in trouble with it. Also, I changed the oil every 6 months while the truck was in storage. I think this was the cheapest insurance while it was parked against any condensation issues that may come up from the California heat and cold nights. I would recommend a complete service and tune up on the truck once again it has been sitting for almost 4 years. Nothing hidden under a nice paint job what you see is what you get. I have also put some photos up of the truck with Mickey Thompson wheels that are 18 x 10 with Dick Cepek tires LT325/60R18 that are brand new with around 800 miles on them which I am selling separately. This wheel and tire package mounted and balanced is just under $5,000.00, however I will give whoever buys this truck a good deal if they are interested in them. Please keep in mind that other than the charging issue, the major mechanical part of the truck is done, it is just cosmetics at this point. If the truck doesn’t sell I will re-list it once it is painted and other repairs are done including recovering the seat at a much higher price. http://youtu.be/9Nv5lnwRztM Check it out on Youtube.
