Vehicle Detail

Here is an amazing 1956 Ariel VH Red Hunter. Just repainted in the orginal Deep Claret as it would have come from the factory. Many parts were replaced with new, tires, tubes, complete exhaust, battery, podtronics voltage regulator, rear shocks, forks were rebuilt, lucas light switch and lots of new chrome. It retains its original airbox with foam filter. Also added was 2 inline fuses for the dyno and voltage regulator. This beautiful bike retains it orginal 6 volt postive earth system. The magneto works great and the dyno was rebuilt. This Red Hunter is amazing to ride and handles very well. It is a right hand shift (1up, 3 down) and the brakes are drum front and back and work like drum brakes. The engine does not smoke at all and starts first kick without a tickle, choke or retard. I did install a new Amal 376/11 Monoblock. The Burman gearbox shifts as it should. There is some minor backfiring when you let off the throttle, but I believe that to be pretty normal. The horn is a tad on the weak side, but does work. The Smiths speedo works as does the volt meter and are all orginal. All electrics work including hi/lo beam rear running and brake light. I believe the seat to be orginal, but not positive. It also retains its orginal steering lock with 2 keys, almost unheard of these days for a vintage bike. This bike absolutely glows in the sunlight and will attract attention like no other. Get ready for spring and summer with one of the most iconic Ariels designed by Val Page. The bike does have a proper British oil drip from time to time.I did clean all oilways in and out of the oil pump and replaced the oil lines from the oil tand to the engine. Oil pressure is excellent. Frame # DU8448 and engine # LK153. Bike is currently registered in California ( good until Dec 014) and I hold a clear CA title Of course, shipping costs are that of the buyer. No warrany is expressed or implied. Look at the pictures carefully and send along any questions or concerns. $500.00 deposit via PayPal due at auction close. Balance due in 7 days after close of auction. Good bidding to All
