Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1968 Pontiac Grand Prix with the ultra rare 428 engine and 4 speed transmission. This is the 375hp version. There were only 306 manual big cars made this year by Pontiac. This engine and transmission combo account for less than 1% of total Grand Prix production. This one came in Cameo Ivory with a black vinyl top and Burgundy red interior. The car originally came from Hughes Motor Company in Prestonsburg, Ky. The paint is nice with a blemish here and there. I would rate it an 8.5 out of 10. The vinyl top is excellent. The interior is original to the car and shows minimal wear with no rips or tears. Factory options include PS, PB, AC, dual exhaust, gauge cluster, electric clock, push button radio, rear speaker, trunk release, open rear, ride and handling package, HD 15in. wheels, bucket seats, console, RH & LH vanity mirrors, soft-ray glass, power antenna, and heavy duty air cleaner. Added options include 14in. Rally II wheels with Coker G70x14 bias-ply redline tires, AM/FM factory radio, wood wheel, and hood tach. Car runs well with no issues mechanically. At some point, HEI was added. It currently has an Edelbrock 4 barrel carb and intake. The original carb and intake have been refurbished and are included with the car. The following items are needed to make car completely right. The gas gauge reads straight up. Blower motor needs replaced. The rear engine seal should be replaced at some time as it has a drip when it sits for a period of time. It does not use any oil. One of the headlight doors is lazy and doesn't always remain closed when car is off. Wood wheel horn button needs to be installed (I have). Inner glove box could be replaced. Trunk release has been removed. The clock is not working. There is a ding on the dash panel below the ignition switch. Headliner and carpet are good. Car is nice cosmetically. No rust or bondo. The trunk, rear quarters, fender wells and undercarriage are all clean and solid. Only issues are a scratch on the passenger front side window near the lock button and a blemish and ding on the front bumper. I would have taken care of these things, but I need to sell quickly as I have lost my job. I purchased this car 2 years ago from a man in Pa. and have enjoyed it immensely. It has won a number of awards in people's choice car shows and it always draws a crowd due to its rarity and exquisite color combination. Car is sold as-is. It is 45 yrs. old and has been maintained well over the years. I am looking to get an amount somewhere between average and high retail according to NADA values. This is an excellent opportunity for the rare Pontiac collector. You will not find another Grand Prix equipped like this one. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time as car is for sale locally. Full payment is due 7 days after auction ends. Call or e-mail me with any questions. My name is Richard and the phone number is (407) 808-4044. I am located in Orlando, Fl. Thank you for bidding and good luck.
