Vehicle Detail

1989 Toyota pickup. 4x4. 137,020 miles. i have owned this truck for approx 7 yrs. I believe i am the second owner. When i bought it , it had about 45,000 miles on it. it blew a head gasket a couple of yrs ago and ruined the original engine. It was replaced with an engine from another truck. The pistons and crank were replaced. New timing chain and gears with metal chain guides. The head is a new casting that was ported and polished. It has an LC engineering cam that is a little bigger than stock. New oil and water pumps. All of the water tubing on this engine is also stainless steel. The engine was painted blue but it is flaking off in places. The engine has developed a knocking sound when it is cold that goes away when it is warm. Also runs a little funny and has a raw gas smell when its cold. Runs ok going down the road.. The oil pan has a leak which is in a spot that can't be repaired so it will need to be replaced. I have included a picture of the leak. It is right on the bottom of the pan under the bracket next to the drain plug. Also has a broken e-brake cable that will need replacement The starter and alternator are both a little over a year old. 1 year old interstate battery. It has a LC engineering header and the converter it about a yr old as well. The rest of the exhaust is about 3 months old. It has an LC engineering aluminum air intake tube. The radiator is only about 6 months old. Also has an electric fan. the automatic feature of the fan stopped working so it is wired to a switch. In the climate that i live in, it hardly ever needed to be used. The rear springs were done about a yr ago also. The bed was removed and everything was undercoated and painted. The truck had a good layer of undercoating when i got it and probably what saved it. The underneath of this truck is in great shape for spending its life in the northeast. It has rancho rs 5000 shocks front and rear which i put on last may. It has a Rhino Linings spray in bed liner which was done last january. The body needs some work. The paint is the original and is thin in places and has 25 yr old paint issues. Drivers door has some rot on the bottom. Some slight rust starting on both front fenders. The hood has a couple of small dents from a tree limb falling on it, The right side of the bed has a major dent from being backed into by a plow truck about a month ago. I sprayed it with some spray paint to prevent any major rusting. it was looked at by a body shop. It needs a new skin on that side of the bed but is well worth fixing. The bed is in good shape otherwise and the spray in bed liner is still like new. The rockers are in great shape. Truck mostly just needs some sheet metal and a paint job to make it like new. The tires have about 7/32 left on the front and 10/32 left on the rear. It has a 6000k HID headlight system with LED accent lights. It also has LED tail lights. The interior is in excellent condition. JVC cd player and there is a sirius receiver that i will leave in. Indiglo white face gauges. Seat is in great shape with a small stress rip on drivers side All in all, it would make a great truck for a restoration. Its a real solid foundation a these trucks are getting few and far between. I hope I won't regret selling it. I have done what i could to preserve it since I've owned it but its time to move on. I believe i have listed all the pros and cons. if i think of anything else i will revise the listing. a $500 deposit is required within 24 hrs of auction close and serious bidders only please. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer and i will do anything i can to be of assistance. Happy bidding! On Jan-29-14 at 04:52:17 PST, seller added the following information: I also have a solid fiberglass cap for the truck as well. It came off a mid 90s tacoma so it is not an exact perfect fit but its close. Its a dark green color. it was pushed in a little on the same side that the truck was backed into but the body shop said it could be straitened. If the winning bidder wants it i will include that as well. Also forgot to mention that the clutch was also replaced with a LC engineering clutch. It is more heavier duty than a stock clutch.
