Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a beautiful 1974 CB550 Café Racer. This bike placed first in the vintage motorcycle show at the 2013 AIM Expo put on by Cafemoto Orlando and sponsored by Ace Café London and Dime City Cycles. It is also featured in Erick Runyon’s 2014 Gears & Glory Calendar. This stunning machine began as a complete CB550 with low miles. It has been rebuilt from the ground up using high quality parts, custom fabricated pieces, and a whole lot of elbow grease. The frame, swing arm, triple, motor mounts, and all the bits were media blasted and powder coated. The bike has new fork seals, fork boots, rear shocks, tapered head bearings, billet aluminum top triple and upper fork bolts. The motor has been rebuilt with new gaskets, seals, Honda piston rings and has been repainted and polished. Custom carbon fiber points cover, stator insert, and starter cover were fabricated and the motor was finished off with allen fasteners.Carburetors have been rebuilt, jetted, and attached using stainless clamps.New tires are mounted on powder coated Lester Mags with new All-Balls bearings and seals. New master cylinder, steel braided brake line, new caliper seal and stainless piston.New Sunstar front and rear sprockets with gold o-ring chain.Sealed 12v/12amp battery with new fuse box, regulator/rectifier combo, and custom wire harness mounted under the seat with custom fabricated carbon fiber battery tray.Steel headlight bucket with new bulb painted to match the body.New 2.5 inch white face gaugesLegendary Motorcycles Lyta Sprint fiberglass tank with Monza cap, and dual petcocks.Custom fabricated fiberglass seatHouse of Kolor Paint. Glint gold pearl over white, Solar Gold stripe covered with Candy Tangerine Custom carbon fiber front fender and rear tire hugger. Old School Speed rear sets 35mm clip-on bars with new throttle tube, clutch perch, and natural rubber gripsMany other NOS and custom partsThe bike is kick-start only. I was originally going to make it electric start and the 12 amp battery has enough juice to drive the starter, but I preferred the weight savings. I also find it satisfying to kick-start a bike to life. I’ll install the starter for the winning bidder if they choose..
