Vehicle Detail

I'm putting up for auction my 1980 BMW r100/7 boxer airhead. In 2010, a friend of mine was selling his collection of restored bikes to fund a business venture. I purchased his BMW. The bike is beautiful as you can see in the photos, but I never have time to ride it. I reset the trip odometer when I purchased the bike and you can see I've logged only 340 miles in almost four years. My real hobby is classic Jaguars so that's what I drive on pretty days.Tuesday afternoon, I disconnected the battery trickle charger, opened up the gas stopcocks, let the bowls have a moment to fill with gas, turned the choke and gave her a crank. She fires up quickly. Astounding! I haven't ridden the bike since last May when I showed it in the motorcycle section of a Dallas area European car and bike show. The bike runs and rides excellent. The clutch is smooth and the transmission shifts great, much better than the clunky previous models. Since it has been in my care, I have kept it in the corner of my garage under a cover with a trickle charger on the battery. I have changed the oil several times on the annual clock. I keep the gas fresh with Stabil and always run the carbs dry before shutting it off to keep them from gumming. I did disassemble the head light assembly and cleaned the glass on the inside - it really sparkles. The previous owner did most of the cosmetic and mechanical restoration. You can see in the photos is has an older style, matching aluminum rather than black plastic air filter housing. He also:Re-jetted the carbs to pre emission standards with a kit from BingNew fork seals and fluidRepacked the steering head bearingsInstalled new choke cablesSet the timing and adjusted the valvesHad Tim at 2 Brothers in OK City repaint the bike with a BMW red The bike has a Brown side stand!I do have one of the original keys and a non original spare. The chrome is bright and shiny and the mufflers are original BMW and in remarkable shape for a 34 year old machine. The paint is beautiful. There is about a 1.5" scratch on the front fender and a couple of chips on the tail, bottom end on the fender where I bumped the wall when putting the bike on the center stand. What does the bike need? It is time to flush the brake fluid, but I'll let the new owner have something to tinker with when they receive the bike. The tires are old, but have tread left on them as you can see in the pictures. I do not have a tool kit.
