Hello Fellow eBayer's!, I am relisting the Vanagon due to the high bidder informing me after she won the van that she was planning to drive across country in it. I steered her away from doing this as I do not feel its ready to go cross country unless you are a mechanic. Bidders please realize I am selling this fan no reserve starting at $1985. It needs work but it is a good start if you are looking to get into one of these without a lot of money. I have now spent $125 dollars on the first unsuccessful auction bid to own! ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING IF MY LISTING IS NOT CLEAR!!!!!!!! I am listing my 1985 VW Westfalia Vanagon. I purchased this van to replace our 88 GL non-camper but as time has been passing my wife is too attached to the GL. I purchased the van locally and started getting it ready for the road as it had been sitting for a few months due to the failed clutch. Below is what I have done so far. In the last year it has received all new brake hydraulics a new Sachs factory clutch, rear main seal, new belts and hoses. Last week I did an oil change and installed a new tinted skylight and Stainless hardware from GoWesty.com and other odds and ends. I have all the factory manuals and receipts for work that was done. The VW has some rust but nothing structural and I put POR15 paint on most of it to stop/slow the rust down. This is a great van for someone looking to get into one of these without spending a lot of money that can fix it up more as they drive it. Good luck and happy biding! This is selling NO Reserve so please be prepared to pickup if you bid and win. Thank you!On Dec-11-13 at 21:01:06 PST, seller added the following information: I am getting a lot of questions about the van and if it runs. Yes it runs great. I went out to start it and check some things out after work and the battery was weak so I just installed a brand new battery.I forgot to mention in the last year it also got a full tune up cap rotor and wires and new belts. It starts right up and idles and runs smooth. I drove it around my neighborhood and the shifter is as with most of these vans sloppy and could use a rebuild. I did this on our 88 vanagon and it's very easy with basic tools. But it is completely drivable.I also have the receipts for new rear wheel cylinders, shoes and some repaired brake line. New front calipers and hoses and pads. Almost a $1800 bill at a local shop.As I said I am selling it cheap so the winner will get a great deal on a good van.
