1969 PONTIAC FIREBIRD CONVERTIBLE......LOTs OF CUSTOM STUFFDONE IN A PRO TOURING STYLE VIN: 223679U105492TITLE: Clear Ohio title in hand.MILEAGE: 7900 reading and I'm sure you can add another 100,000, but most everything has been redone. For your consideration I have a nice 1969 Firebird convertible that has lots of custom changes. If your a purest this car may not for you, if you like pro-touring style stuff it may be for you. The body seems to be very solid, the black paint is slick and straight, it has 2 tiny dings in the trunk top and a few very minor touched up chips, the car has a brilliant shine and its straight to look down the sides. The chrome gleams and the glass is clear, the convertible top is very good, no top boot for when it is down. The engine is very strong, it is a 400 cubic inch Chevrolet that is built, it has no knocks or rattles, it has a nice hitting cam, a big Holley carburetor, billet pullies and more. The transmission is a 3 speed automatic with over drive, its a Turbo Hydromatic 200-4R and I like it, the shifter is by B & M, it works fine, but I'm not a big fan of ratchet shifters. The rear-end is high dollar and made by Dana, it is a 3.56 gearing and positive traction, they start out costing $2,000 and go up and this is with out brakes. The brakes are disc on the front, the back are Wilwood disc, they are power assisted and there is no parking brake. The car is power steering and drives good, the steering column is high dollar after market and till, it looks like a Flaming River to me. The wheels are by Center Line, the tires are 205/65/15 in front and 295/50/15 in the rear. The interior is nice with 1 little flaw in the bottom of the drivers seat. The sound system is by Kenwood and sounds great. This is a real nice car, but no 100 show car, lots and lots of money was spent on it, if it was a 1969 Camaro, it would be at least a $35,000 car, I like the Pontiacs better. PICTURES: More pictures can be seen if you scroll on the right side of the picture section. It stated misting rain when I took the pictures. WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee “I am truly qualified to be called a Hill Billy”. I am 67 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 41. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam. I’m Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American. I’ve been married to the same good woman for 44 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! Sorry, I do not show cars on Sunday! I worship on Sunday, I spend time with my family, I'm 67 years old and need some rest. I love cars and will help you 6 days a week, but not on Sunday. TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just too hard! The rest of the information is boring unless you are really interested in buying the vehicle, its just buying details like shipping, paperwork, who I am, where the car is located and how to pay and contact information. PAINT: Nice paint on a straight body, no dents, 2 tiny dings on the trunk top and some very minor defects (If I get time next week I may paint the trunk, it has a brilliant shine, 4 or 5 touched up chips. I consider the paint a very nice drive and enjoy quality, it looks good. Chrome and bright work: All nice. INTERIOR: No bad smells and it looks good with no real wear, 1 tiny hole in the bottom of the drivers seat and a cracked place on the radio panel cover. GLASS: The glass is good, the side windows roll up and down good, the windshield clear. Speedometer works! Gas gauge works! wipers work! Headlights work! Tail lights work! Brake lights work! CONVERTIBLE TOP: Very good condition with no holes or worn places. It goes up and down good, it is manual. The top was born power operated, the motor and hydraulic parts are in place, but disconnected. I checked the motor and it is bad in one direction, I guess that's the reason it was disconnected. The top does go up and down good, no boot. WHEELS: Nice Center Line wheels, tires are 295/50/15 on rear and 205/65/15 on front. Front tires are a little out of balance, but not bad, I will have them balanced and hope they are perfect. STEERING: Power steering and the car drives good to me. REAR-END: Very high dollar Dana rear end, it is positive traction and 3.56 gearing. Transmission: TH 200-4R , 3 speed automatic with overdrive. ENGINE: Its a strong running 400 cubic inch Chevrolet, it has no knocks, no rattles and starts good. It is dressed out nice with billet pullies and valve covers. The carb is a big Holley, the car has a nice hitting cam. RADIO: Very nice Kenwood with a CD palyer. TRUNK: Nice and clean, I see some holes where a amp must have been mounted in years past. UNDERSIDE: The underside of the car look very solid, the frame extensions look solid and are connected together with frame connectors, this is a good thing. The underside is good, but not detail shinny for show. CONTACT INFO: my cell telephone number is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM Eastern Time. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com <<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>I DO NOT SHOW CAR ON SUNDAY>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Sorry, but I don't do videos, I'm old and just do what technology I have, the very minimum. PAPERWORK: I know what to do! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a Tennessee licensed/bonded car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET. WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my garage in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles south of Knoxville and 50 miles north of Chattanooga. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. US OR EXPORT “I like Nations Auto Transport. They are located in Kansas City. Contact: Jim Page his office number is 816-295-6887 and his email is jpage@shipnat.com MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75) and 35 miles south of interstate 40, so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car.I will take paypal for the deposit, but not for full payment.Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face.Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had a fake bank certified check. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is called wire transfer. And its safe for both of us. WILL I HOLD THE CAR UNTIL YOU GET HERE TO LOOK OR HAVE IT INSPECTED? Its good business for both of us the take a deposit. A $250 deposit locks it in for you! I have held too many cars that people promise me they are going to buy and they never show up, their wife won’t let them buy it, they can’t get a loan or they just back out. Before you drive or fly a long distance you need to make sure the car is not sold. “The way I look at it is until you pay a deposit you’re just looking and dreaming”. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 67 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but they can make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, please don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first! If you are not registered with ebay motors, I will work with you, "YOU CAN BUY DIRECT". BOTTOM LINE: Sorry, but my price is $21,700 I'm asking more on the local market. The game is not rocket science, ask a price and come down. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down. WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE AND PLEASE DON’T BE A CRY BABY. Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info.Thank You,Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com I am very careful about taking payment, I have had a fake certified check, it looked real and the buyer seemed real. I will take one, but I will check you out. I am ebay varified, that means you can buy ebays buyer protection plan and they will guarantee thats I'm real, they will not guarantee the car.
