Vehicle Detail

This car is in great condition for its age. The paint still shines nicely and the car drives very smoothly. The V8 is very powerful and makes driving through traffic easy. The car has about 101,500 miles on it and I have maintained it well throughout my ownership. I always changed the oil with full synthetic and replaced the tires November 2012. The battery was recently tested during service and it passed all the tests. Also, this is a non-smoker car and has no strange smells. I have also been asked whether this is a Sandy car since I live in Manhattan- I purchased the car right after Sandy last year from western NJ which was not affected by the flooding that other parts of the country saw, so this car was never involved in any storm damage. Comes with both keys (rare for a car in this price range!), as well as some owners manuals. Also, please note that this engine is the top of the line engine for this model. It is the same engine that was used in the extremely expensive A8 and makes my car much better than most of the other A6's that are currently for sale. When I bought the car, I didn't think I'd care about the engine but after even a couple days I could tell what a difference 300 horsepower makes in daily driving. It is just great. Problems: -Minor Front End Cosmetics: The car had minor front end damage when I purchased it and I never fixed it because it doesn't affect operation and isn't really noticeable unless you're looking for it. The hood opens and closes with no problems, and there is no rust because the hood is made of aluminum. The front bumper looks to have been repainted prior to my ownership, and the headlights occasionally get condensation in them that goes away after using the headlights. The previous owner indicated to me that the car struck a wall in a parking garage while parking (the driver pulled in too far). The damage seems to coincide with this- there is nothing structurally wrong, and it is nothing more than cosmetic. -Minor Paint Scratches/Scuffs/etc: these are all commensurate with an older car, nothing major to note. -Center Cupholder Does Not Close: This is a common problem with the Audi A6 from this year- after a while the cupholder doesn't close. It still holds cups though, so it really isn't much of an issue. Blue book for this car is $7,260 for very good, $7,085 for good, and $6,510 for fair. Fair is the best description for this car due to the couple of cosmetic defects, and they are hardly noticeable from a few feet away. The title is clear and there are no liens. The car is located in the Financial District in Manhattan. The pictures were taken at my weekend home in NJ. I can offer reasonable free delivery if you live in central or northeastern NJ but please contact me if you plan on using this service so we can make sure it is logistically feasible. If you would like to view the car, please contact me to arrange a viewing in Manhattan anytime after 7pm on Friday or all day Saturday. I require a $500 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of the auction end and the balance in cash at pickup, or we can meet at your bank to conduct the transaction. Alternative arrangements can also be made regarding the deposit and forms of payment but please contact me to discuss. ************************************************************ Update: I've received quite a few questions regarding the hood, so I wanted to post my response to those questions here in order to clarify any confusion caused by the pictures: As far as the hood is concerned, the hood itself is a little "smooshed" from being pressed into the wall or whatever it struck so it shortened itself it length and increased in height (kind of like if you place your hand flat on a desk then bring your fingers in a bit- the middles raise up and the fingertips get closer to the base of the hand). It is all very minor though in that the hood latch still aligns with the frame latch and it still opens and closes without interference between the quarter panels. When I first bought the car I brought it to a body shop and we all agreed that it was "not worth fixing it because it still works and looks fine". Ultimately, from some angles it will look slightly open. However, even after only a couple of days of owning it I realized that it is almost unnoticeable in regular everyday conditions and is perfect for someone looking to get a great deal on a comfortable, powerful, good looking car.
