Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a very rare Mopar, a 1969 Dodge Polara. These big Mopar cruisers are incredibly difficult to find these days in any kind of reasonable condition. Many were scrapped, wrecked, stripped of their drivetrains or simply rusted away. This Polara is also the menacing and desirable 4 door sedan. The basis for the most legendary police vehicle of all time-the 69 Police pursuit squad, the big Dodge was an intimidating sight on the highways of yore. This Polara is not an official police vehicle, but has been set up to invoke the legendary enforcer. It has a nice set of police dog dish hubcaps, a couple cool red lights and an antenna. In this configuration, it certainly looks the part of an undercover or detective version of the Polara. It wears its original period paint scheme of cream body with contrasting green painted roof. I believe the Polara has been repainted once, although the roof may be the original paint. What makes this Dodge special, besides its rarity, is its survivor status. Displaying very low original miles, its original interior, trim and drivetrain makes this a special Polara indeed. The car was obviously well cared for as the interior is in simply amazing condition. Most of these old Dodges were not noted for long wearing interiors. In fact, I've never seen one with an intact dash. This car has a beautiful dash, headliner, door panels, carpet, package tray, etc. The weatherstripping rubber is supple and nice, instruments are clear and work well. All the switch gear works as new. The radio is crisp and clear and sounds great. Sitting in this big Mopar is just as it must have been in 1969. Except for a few minor flaws, its amazingly intact. All the lights inside and out work perfectly. Normally when you follow an old car in traffic, you see dim and faded lights-not with this one! bright and clear! Such is the advantage of driving a low original mile example. The impossible to find factory windshield is uncracked and very nice-a huge plus for this car. The body is straight, the chrome and trim are in nice condition-the Polara shows very well. Driving the imposing Dodge is a treat. No funny noises, no loud wind noises, no clunks and rattles-just a nice car to cruise the highways with. The car runs cool and maintains modern traffic speeds with ease. Even though its not equipped with a big block, this competent little V8 gets the job done. Everything is just nice and original, the trunk is also equipped with the full complement of spare, jack set and a nice mat. The original hub caps are also included with the police caps. The emergency vehicle license plates are not included, though everything else is. Problems? yes, even with a survivor this nice, all is not perfect. There are a few minor tears in the upholstery. There is some minor rust/repair evident in some of the lower sill, fender areas. The trunk pan has an amateur rust repair in a small area. That being said, the floor pans, the vast majority of the trunk, the window areas, firewall, doors, etc are all very nice and rust free. Very rare to find a Polara of this vintage with a perfect rear window area. Don't miss this chance to obtain a great example of a rare Polara. The really tough pieces are all there in great shape(windshield, interior, dash, pans, trim, super low original miles, etc). A great start to create a Police(or CHP) clone, leave as a detective car or simple restore to a wonderful survivor to cruise the shows. Offered "As Is" of course and at no reserve. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding! On Nov-29-13 at 15:56:06 PST, seller added the following information: Hello, I have added a fender tag picture, the car does have a clear title, current registration, and is approx 20 minutes south of Long Beach. It can be viewed and inspected during normal business hours. This is a turn key driver that has maintained very well. Thanks for the questions. I hope this helps.
