Vehicle Detail

This is a beautiful post war British car made by Austin. It was called the Sheerline. It was their luxury competitor to Rolls Royce and Bentley. It was originally equipped with a 6 cylinder Austin motor (essentially an Austin Healey 100 motor with 2 extra cylinders). Up front the famous Lucas 100 lights (and smaller Lucas driving lights) lit the way. This car was restored a while back. It was painted at the time (the paint is now showing its age with lots of cracking, etc) The vinyl roof is starting to peel back. It was repowered with a Chrysler straight six and automatic transmission. The interior was redone at the time. The seats still look good. The headliner looks good except for a portion where the sunroof has leaked (this one area could be repaired without touching the rest of the headliner) Of course, this car is right hand drive. The wood dash could use refinishing but all the beautiful gauges are intact. The car received a Rolls Royce grill and hubcaps thus making it a close copy of a post war Rolls Royce. Both the Rolls and the Austin came with the expensive and striking Lucas 100 lights. The car runs and drives but it has been sitting for a while and needs general tinkering and tlc. The engine runs without any knocks or noises but coughs and spits like any car that has been sitting for a bit. The carb needs to be rebuilt I imagine. I would drop the gas tank and clean it and replace all soft gas lines. The brake pedal goes to the floor so at the very least the brakes need to be bled although I imagine a wheel cylinder or two need to be rebuilt. The body and frame and floorpans are amazingly rust free for an older car. No signs of rust thru on the body or underside. There appears to be minor cracking on the driver side rear door. This is a very cool and rare car. It could be used as a cool around town cruiser with just a little tlc or with a little more effort could be fixed up to use for a limo service. I have an open Colorado title with a state Colorado id riveted to the door post. It is actually titled as a Rolls. I also have another Austin Sheerline Rolls Royce. It is shown in the last 3 pictures. It is NOT for sale in this particular auction. It was involved in a front end shunt. It got banged pretty good but it could be fixed by a decent body man. It has the original Austin engine and transmission with a redone interior and the Rolls Royce grill and hubcaps. I'd be willing to sell this car to the top bidder if they wanted both cars. Please email me for any further questions. On Nov-23-13 at 09:02:10 PST, seller added the following information: Thanks for all the questions. Under fuel type I mistakenly put down hybrid electric. Obviously this car runs on gasoline but my apologies for any confusion.
