Vehicle Detail

1963 Chevrolet Corvair 95 Panel Van 153300 miles 6 cylinder 140 cu in 4 Speed Western Truck, Solid Project (95% rust free) Straight Body, no accidents Runs/Drives I have owned this old van for a long time. It has been in storage all year. Here is what I know about it: -This van is solid. It came from the west coast. The body is in amazing condition. -The heater box has been removed. It was that way when I got it. I never messed with it, I never drove in the winter. -The paint is an older respray. It is ok, but it shows its age. There are a few chips and scratches. (This was a working van) There is some peeling around the drip rail. There is some minor rust starting to poke through around the door hinges. There is also some minor rust staining under the front doors. The passenger door has what looks like a minor crease in the lower door skin. Its not noticeable, but I'm going to mention it. -The weatherstripping should be replaced. -The emblems for the doors are in the glove box. I don't know what the mirrors are from, but they are not original. -The passenger vent window is broken, I have a set of replacements you can have with the van. -Someone in the past has fabbed up a trailer hitch that is welded to the rear bumper. I have never attempted to pull anything with it. I have used it to carry a bike rack. It works good for that. -The engine runs good. Charging system has been converted to alternator. It was like that when I got it. The motor had a full tuneup last year. The carburetors have been professionally rebuilt with kits from Clarks. It does seep some oil. It looks like its coming from the valve cover gasket on the passenger side. I have a set of valve cover gaskets (also from Clarks) I'm including. -The 4 speed transmission shifts good and stays in gear with no weird noises. The linkage for the clutch and shifter is a little sticky from sitting. I sprayed it down with penetrating oil. It should free up with use. -The under dash wiring has been replaced with a kit from Clarks. -The steering and suspension is tight and tracks straight. -The interior is very spartan. Just a bench seat and not much else. (It is a cargo van) The bench seat looks to be wearing an original Chevrolet seat cover. Its in good shape. -The tires are ok, they hold air and have about 60% tread left. There is a little weather checking on them. -I have driven this thing for thousands of miles. It has never let me down or left me stranded. It is the only vehicle I have ever owned that can work as hard as I do. I'm only selling it because I have lost my storage and I don't want to see it to sit outside this winter. It will make an excellent vehicle for someone who likes old vans. I have never seen another one like it. Please email me with any questions.
