Vehicle Detail
1972 Volvo 1800 ES wagon in non-working condition. Clean title. This car belonged to a neighbor's husband, and she asked that I sell it for her. (We sold another vehicle recently, and had very favorable experience. Please see auction #221283744981 for feedback and description of that auction.) According to the title, he acquired it on 6/9/82. Chassis # (i.e., last 5 digits of VIN) is 01933. I attempted to list this vehicle earlier this week, but Ebay took down the auction because the wrong category had been used. My apologies to those who were watching or bidding on the earlier version. Buyer must make contact within 7 days and arrange for pickup within 14 days. We will NOT ship the car. Please ask any questions, and we will do our best to respond quickly. UPDATE (11/16/13 9:40pm): I have had several questions about rust. There is rust on the rocker panels, especially the right one, and some other rust on the body which is visible in the pictures. I do not know about rust on the underside, as I have not looked there. The tires are flat, so that would have to be factored in when shipping. I've learned of a website called movecars.com that can give information about shipping from one state to another. The pneumatic lift on the rear hatchback does not hold the hatchback up. The back seats are in good condition, but the front bucket seats are in poor condition. It is a 4-speed overdrive. The top dash is cracked in a couple of places. (Thanks to those who have asked the questions to allow me to provide this information.) I realize that this vehicle is a collector's item and desired by many. Please know that neither my neighbor (the car belonged to her husband) nor I are Volvo experts. We are not trying to withhold any information; we just don't know what things true Volvo fans want or need to know. We will do our best to answer any questions you have, but her main objective is to sell the car to someone who will appreciate it and can use it for their benefit. I've been asked to post better pictures, so have done that. This is likely a car for salvaging vintage parts or for the true car buff who wants to take it on as a restoration project. Please bid knowing this is being sold "as is," which is in used, non-running condition.
