desireestrang Store 1962 Chevy Corvair Wagon in original survivor condition with gold interior and yellow exterior (originally Surf green). Manual 4 speed transmission. This car is a garage find, I drove it home (40 miles). It ran pretty well considering age and condition, it smokes a little. It has more power than I expected! All of the electrical looks to be in really nice shape. At one point in it's life it had a Maaco style paint job that it now peeling, exposing the original Surf green underneath. The gentleman I purchased the car from says the 118K is original miles and that the car has been in Colorado it's entire life. There is a little bit of rust on the driver's fender by the rocker trim and by the headlamp. The prior owner put in bucket seats from a different Corvair, but I was able to get the original bench seat from him and it will be included in the sale. Also included with the sale is an original roof rack (shown in the pics above). Less than 5000 wagons were built in 1962, making this the rarest of all Corvairs. On Oct-28-13 at 18:11:32 PDT, seller added the following information: The roof rack pictured is only "sitting" on the roof of the car. This car have never had a roof rack installed so there are no holes in the roof. I bought the roof rack seperately, but it is a Corvair Wagon OEM part, it came off of a 61 wagon, I bought it at a swap meet awhile back.
