Vehicle Detail
Here's my son's and my limited history we have on this car. - September 2012 Son finds car; wants to rebuild as father and son project (like was done with other son and '69 Mustang). - Drive home 40+ miles and parked it. We found it had positive pressure coming from the dip stick. Decided to not drive until we could rebuild engine. - Spring 2013; Son doesn't show much interest while I (Dad) pull engine. - It's hauled to American Engine and Machine, Inc. (Spokane, WA). - Cost of engine rebuild $1,300. We have all the paper work and warranty. - Son loses interest. Dad left with father-son project sitting in garage torn apart for 6 months. - Dad (and Mom) need garage available for winter. Must get car out soon. Do not want to roll car out to sit for the winter. - Rebuilt (318 V8 long block) engine still wrapped up and sitting in garage (shown at left side in photo with valve covers in box on top). - Remaining car parts removed (including transmission) and sitting in garage. Interior needs work, along with other items. These older car odometers do not have the extra digit so I'm assuming the mileage is 120244, because the gas pedal does not have the wear a 200,000 mile car would have. This car has plenty of work that's needed but would be a REALLY NEAT CAR once fixed up! Anyone that rebuilds cars knows (many times) you put more into them than you ever get out of them financially and it's for the joy and pride. I feel very bad leaving the car in this condition when I have the ability to finish this project, but I'm personally very busy with community events, work, my own hobbies.... and above all, I do not believe finishing it provides the lesson that needs to be learned. Our loss is your gain. Feel free to contact me and come take a visit to see the car for yourself. Respond by email and I'll provide you a phone number to contact me. Scott Quincy, WA
