Up for auction is a 1960 TR3A which was a frame up restoration. Every piece of the car was gone through and worked on. All of the components are original with the exception of a few small items like there is new voltage regulator, antenna, badge bar, shift knob and so on. The car took me four years to restore. The interior is classic red with white piping. The engine has been completely rebuilt including new piston liners, rings, bearings and valve guides. The transmission also had new bearings installed as well. The front wheel bearings, seals and u-joints are all new. There is a racing clutch installed – here the springs are tight for quick accelerating torque. The tires are all new with less than 300 miles on them. All of the gauges function, and the car has a clear title. The car also comes with classis Lucas fog lamps. The electrical harness was completely restored using all new terminations, and there is an electronic ignition module installed in the distributor. The car is POSITIVE grounded, meaning all of the devices run on a NEGATIVE voltage. The interior is made from vinyl and the carpets are of good quality material. The carpets are held in place with Velcro so they are easily removed. There are also neat looking floor mats with the classic Triumph logo. The car runs fine and starts fine. There is no spare tire. Included in the auction is the rare and sought after Smiths Radiomobile radio console. This is a Radiomobile 50TM model which has AM long wave and medium wave tuning. This is a cool valve type radio which was completely restored as well. The console is easily disconnected so that it can be put in the trunk and not stolen. The console also comes with a standard plug for playing music from an MP3 player like an iPod or iPhone or the like. The chrome is all original except for a few small pieces which were missing from the car, and some pieces show wear and some others show pitting. Also included is a pile of documents I wrote during the restoration like wiring diagrams, hole designation diagram, pipe routing diagram, radio schematics and layout along with details on some gauges and the horns. The horns got some special electronic treatment to minimize arcing of the relay contacts so as to extend their life. Oh, most all of the Lucas bare copper connections have been pre tinned so that corrosion is not a problem. The bolts used on the body are all stainless steel. The paint is lacquer, and there is a small cracking area under the rear right turn indicator. The floor pans and rocker panels are all new. The car comes with a vinyl top (also red and white not shown) and a car cover. Please contact me for a viewing, test drive of for any questions.
