1986 Honda VF-500F Interceptor, very good cosmetic condition, second owner and not currently running with 10,300 miles on it. The tires are fairly new Bridgestone Battleax. There is a dent on the left side of the tank and a slight scrape on the left muffler but no frame or suspension damage (small low speed get off). The bike was in storage for about two years and the carbs were gummed up from sitting. I had the carbs rebuilt and got the bike running. After about 7 or 8 miles (up to operation temperature) the bike started smoking but no noise or performance degradation was observed. I also discovered a slight fuel leak in the vacuum operated fuel shut off valve. I checked with a local 40+ year Honda mechanic and he recommended running the bike for 100 miles or so to see if the problem cleared up before going further. I may have been an accumulation of deposits in a muffler. Although what little riding I did I was impressed by the power, brakes and handling. As the bike was give to my son by my son-in-law and my son no longer lives home, I lost interest in pursuing a solution to the problem as I am not going to ride it and have no interest in becoming a Honda Interceptor Subject Matter Expert (SME). It is time to pass this collectible motorcycle to a Interceptor enthusiast. I have a California title for the bike.
