Vehicle Detail
***** THIS IS A NO-RESERVE AUCTION!!!!***** You're looking at a 1979 Chevy Van G-10 ½ Ton Shorty. It is an original California van with no rust. The rain gutters have no rust at all. Hard to find these vans anymore that aren't rusty! The original front seats have just been re-upholstered to match the original pattern, new carpet kit. The arm rests, the engine cover and sun visors have been redyed. Factory tilt steering column (it's tight, not worn out), old school dual sunroof. 350 motor (actual mileage unknown), turbo 350 automatic transmission, power steering, power disc brakes. The motor is tired, it smokes when you first start it. The smoke goes away after 5 minutes. It has a miss at a low idle. At a high RPM the miss goes away. I did give it a tune-up, but the miss did not go away. I think it has a burnt valve. I have not tried to smog the van, but I would assume it would not pass in its current condition. All the smog equipment is there, including the converter. The van's paint was originally root beer brown but is now black. It was recently buffed out, but the paint is probably 20 years old. It's very shiny, but it has imperfections, small dings, dents, scratches. It looks good from 15 feet away. It's missing the radio but the radio holes have not been cut. The cargo area is not all beat up. I am not too familiar with the suspension lift, but I think the rear springs have been re-arched. It has different coil springs in the front and four Rancho shocks. It's missing the rear ladder to do on top of the roof. I have a clean California title in my name, in non-op status, with no back fees. It's a great rust-free project. It does run and drive, but it is a project. If you need more information (a walk around description) or more specific pictures, you can email me or call me, Mike, at (760) 519-3478. If you are an overseas buyer, I have a truck and trailer and can transport the car to a shipper in Long Beach for $300. If you are in the US and need a transporter, a reliable one I have done business with is Hanover Transport. You can call them for a quote 1-888-919-1677. This vehicle is being sold as is with no implied warranty. If I have not had contact from the winning bidder within three days of the end of the auction, I will assume you are a non-paying bidder and will proceed through the Ebay steps accordingly. Payment is to be paid in full within 7 business days of the end of the auction and pickup within 14 days of the end of the auction unless other arrangements are agreed upon.
