Vehicle Detail

1964 Chevy Rat Rod, Street Rod Truck This truck is 50 years old!! Get a cool and simple piece of history to cruise in..... The RESERVE is set low for what these trucks normally sell for on eBay. We have almost 2000 Feedbacks at 100%!! We set out to build a cool, lowered ride that would be an everyday driver and get some looks. We wanted it to be reliable, easy to run around town in and get good mileage. The results were phenomenal! This '64 Chevy truck has undergone a transformation into a custom street/rat rod, unlike anything you have ever seen on the road before. It draws attention from men, women, children and even the old hot rod guys dig it. This truck was built to sell, but I liked it so much I've kept it as my daily driver for the last 6 months!! **Nothing but looks and thumbs up!** We put it in Oregon’s biggest car show back in August of over 525 cars, and she drew tons of attention!! A serious diamond in the rough. A true, dry west coast truck. The patina is outstanding! The body is super solid. Virtually rust free in the floor and rockers. A little bubbling in the lower front fenders which is totally normal for these year models, but no biggie at all. The only real "cancer" we could find, was in the drivers lower rear cab corner up underneath. It's so small that it took us the better part of a month to even notice it. We bought it with the intentions of throwing a 350 engine in it, but it ran so good and clean that we didn't have the heart, or see the need to do it. The engine is a sweet running little '58 283-V8 with the small 4bbl Rochester on it. It also has an RV cam in it that sounds outstanding through the brand new 2.5" dual, side-exit exhaust with Thrush "flowmaster style" mufflers!! It is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. This thing sounds awesome running!! The engine has just over 37,000 miles on the rebuild back in 1998 and has a new HEI ignition (removed from the factory harness and relayed to the battery). This engine runs sweet and starts perfect every time! As you can see it is a "Custom" trim level truck, so she has chrome bumpers and grill with all the side trim. Some of the exterior trim is a little battered, but it is all there. It was also ordered back in the day with the "Deluxe" interior package. The interior package had the deluxe steering wheel, deluxe gauge cluster (all fully functional), deluxe heater (brand new heater core and hoses), two tone door panels and a rare, red bench seat which was only given to red, white and silver trucks with the "comfort" package on them (more foam in the bottom and back of the seat). The dash is totally unmolested and still has the stock AM radio (doesn't work....but we never really looked into why cause I just didn't care! LOL). We put brand new window and door seals on it to give her a nice tight seal, and we also pulled off the nasty trailer mirrors and swapped them out for a pair of 4" long arm-peep mirrors for a much cleaner look. It has new carpet and floor mats and we also threw a new Mexican blanket over the stock seat and gave her a new, more rat rod style tall-shifter with a 1940's style ceramic door knob. You could change the interior look easily by changing out the blanket for other colors. It does have a rock chip in the windshield that could be easily repaired. Odometer indicates 96K, but we are fairly certain this is not 196K. We have several documents from the previous owner along with the original owners manual in the glove box, and none of them seem to show any six-digit mileage recordings. The bed-floor is still the original 50 year old wood and in good shape! The brakes and clutch feel great and the drivetrain is all good. It drives very nice and smooth! It doesn't pull at all and it pulls up nice and straight when the brakes are applied. We did give her power steering to make her friendlier driving around town. We also threw a new parking brake cable on it because the old one was broken. The 235/70R15 tires are only a few months old and are still like new. The whitewalls are 3" portawalls and the hubcaps are '64 Cadillac caps modified to fit a standard 15" wheel. 1964 Cadillac hubcaps are designed to only fit Cadillac wheels. You're not going to see another C10 rocking these anytime soon. We upgraded the headlights to H4 with the cool, dimmer "cruising lights" built in (AKA City Lights). The low/hi beams also work great for night driving. I drive it everyday, and she never lets me down!! The attention it gets is unreal. Seriously...... Any questions shoot us a message Clear Oregon title. Happy to help out of state bidders with transportation arrangement. **Now for the Legal Stuff** We are serious about this sale, and you should be too before bidding. If you want the truck and can afford to pay for it, by all means bid. If not, please don't! IF YOU HAVE NO FEEDBACK, PLEASE DO NOT BID! NO FLAKES!! - $500 deposit via PayPal within 48 hrs, full payment within 14 days (cash, cashiers check or wire transfer) We will release the truck, or ship it at your expense, once it is paid-in-full. IF YOU WIN, NO RE-NEGOTIATING AFTER SALE. Truck is sold “as is”. No warranty written, expressed or implied. We’ve tried to the best of our ability to describe the vehicle, but keep in mind it is only our opinion and this is NOT a new truck No Returns! Thanks for looking!! On Oct-12-13 at 22:22:07 PDT, seller added the following information: If you guys would rather have an automatic, 4-speed transmission in this thing, we have a fresh rebuilt 700R4 with zero miles on it that we just bought last week from our tranny guy here in town. He is an ASE certified transmission mechanic here at the Chevy dealer and is awesome with these 700's. We were going to put it in another project and changed our minds last minute. It's updated with a 13-vane pump, the "Beast" Sunshell, a Transgo mechanical torque convertor lock-up so you do not have to wire the electrical at all and a complete rebuild kit in it. We would let it go for $600 above the selling price of the truck and send it with it for you to install. Don't let the manual stop you from bidding if you don't like the clutch setup. I prefer it, but to each there own.................. On Oct-17-13 at 10:54:50 PDT, seller added the following information: The reserve is removed on the very next bid. We have also placed a "Buy it Now" on this auction. We have over 175 people currently "watching" it. If you want to make sure you get it, you might want to hit the "Buy it Now" button and lock it in. You could have this truck sitting in your driveway with a week or two. Good luck! On Oct-19-13 at 09:40:17 PDT, seller added the following information: The "Buy it Now" button was somehow automatically removed by eBay. Maybe because within 48 hours of auction ending? Don't know. We have had multiple requests to end the auction early. We will not be ending it early, and will let it run it's entire course. Thanks for the interest though......... On Oct-19-13 at 15:55:14 PDT, seller added the following information: Their have been 3 guys that have messaged us asking if it is a short bed. It is a long bed truck. Please look at the pictures carefully. One of the pictures is a complete left side shot showing it is a long bed. Thanks!
