Up for sale: 1989 BMW 325i convertible. I bought the car (3) years ago as a drivable project, and never got the time to work on it. Absolute blast to drive. Starts every time, easy shifting, and handles very well. Top down, driving around to see the fall foliage is great. As soon as I bought the car, it needed the driveshaft center bearing and flex-joint replaced. I did that without complication (please see photos) I installed new rear transmission mounts as well. Other than changing the oil and filter, I haven't made time to address the other issues. The Good: Starts every time. Even after long periods of sitting. Clutch and transmission are strong and smooth. AC seems to work. Power mirrors, windows and heated seats all work. Have extra "BMW" badge for hood or trunk and original, leather-bound shifter knob as well as the polished wood one that is installed. Have original Owner's Handbook, Service Booklet and Manual. Body is straight with one wrinkle above driver side, rear tire. No rust except under hood bra and surface areas as shown in photos. Tires are serviceable, there is a full size spare w/ matching wheel. Original jack, lug wrench, tools are all included. A custom BMW car cover (see photo) is included. Also a cassette cleaning kit in a BMW case and a new distributer cap (still in package) Needs Attention: Original Alpine white paint w/ blue leather interior (Please see photos). Engine starts and idles, but is rough at low RPM (...starting off). Once at speed, the engine is very smooth. Convertible top itself functions perfectly, but has small leak were it meets the corner of the windshield frame. Soft rear window in top is cloudy. Has Sony AM/FM cassette in dash w/ 10 CD changer in trunk that does not work. I think the "third" brake light, in the middle of the trunk lid leaks. Half of the gauges don't work. Left side (fuel, speedometer, directional and high beam indicators) work. The right side (tach, temp.) doesn't work. About 1K miles ago, odometer stopped working (at same time when the right side stopped.) Car just passed New Jersey inspection and would be great for somebody with a little time to give it.
