Vehicle Detail
For sale is a rare Volvo 142 which has been modified for rally race or baya fun. The wheel openings have been enlarged to accept bigger tires and also to get rid of the mud easily. Rebuild B20 engine, (2.0 liter) with upgraded racing camshaft from IPD. (compression is high and equal on all cylinders) -------------------------------New parts: Brand new gas tank, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel line, 5 Cooper tires, 5 custom spun lightweight aluminum rims, master cylinder, some brake hoses, calipers, 4 speed transmission, 2 interstate batteries, Weber carburetor, clutch, pressure plate, bearings, heavy gauge battery cables... (all those parts are new!) Tires have now about 250 miles only.Since the beginning of the restoration, the car has about 250 miles only.Double sway bars have been installed! (front) Body was repainted 6 years ago in white, not the best job but it looks better than the original yellow. Seats were reupholstered very recently, they are nice, smooth and comfortable. (nice red wine color too) (I'm pretty sure that they are the same three points base seats that you can find in the Volvo 122s.) There is TWO interstates ``deep cycle`` batteries. (they are located in the trunk to get more grip at the back of the vehicle in the trails.) You won't get stuck anywhere... New electronic Crane ignition. I also replace the brake booster with a used one. Brakes are very good and the pedal is responsive and accurate. I bought the car when the project was half completed, now its almost done, needs a few little things to be really complete. The wiring have been redone almost everywhere with new wires and connector boxes.--------------------Things who needs to be completed:Blower fan is not working. (may be the connections)No lights in the cluster at night.A thermo-static switch needs to be installed for the radiator fan.Painting the door frames in white would looks better. There is a few surface rust spots here and there but I didn't want to hide it. (There's no holes) So you can see the real "original" state about that. (So if ever you want to change the color of the whole car you could do it in the same time.) (But for now, the paint is still very shiny.) The hood (who have been painted in dark blue) have one small surface rust spot who can be fixed easily. The two door retainers have been removed long time ago. Because of that the doors opens too wide and they have a dent on eaches. I have the retainers if ever you want to put them back.Small oil leak, a spoonful a day, probably from the master seal. Many rubber bushings needs to be replaced under the car.Odometer is not working. The milleage is stuck at 124000 but the speedometer works. The car is my daily driver for now. I also have a few boxes of parts and the ''shop manual''. Bid with confidence, 100% pos feedback. On Oct-08-13 at 14:34:28 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to write about a little issue on the car's top, looks like the previous owner droped a few drops of maybe brake fluid or something like that. The person swapped it but the damage was done. The paint is not peeling off but its less shinny and thinner at this spot... Not very noticeable cause the car is high from the ground. 59 inches at the highest point. -------------------Interessting shot with RONNIE WOOD--------------- Also guys, if your a fan of the legendary ROLLING STONE ROCK BAND, I have a picture with RON WOOD who is kidding beside THIS CAR. He is like laid back beside the baja 142, wide open arms with a big smile... I took the pic on a Saturday night downtown Disney here in Orlando one month ago...So l'll share the pic with the new owner...I also a (loud) Bolo air horn in the front today. On Oct-08-13 at 14:39:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry, I also installed the horn today.
