Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a customized 1962 Thunderbird that has been transformed into a sweet pro touring car. This car was built to be a driver, it gets a ton of attention at the cruises, it is not a trailer queen show anchor! The rear wheel-wells were radiused and the trim was removed from the rear quarters, making this Thunderbird look more sleek and smooth than how it rolled off the assembly line back in 1962. A ton of time and money has gone into this car to make it something that is real head turner, is also fun, reliable and safe to drive. Drivetrain modifications include: 460 engineMSD 6AL ignitionMSD distributorEdelbrock carburetorEdelbrock performer intakeNew aluminum radiator w/electric fansC6 transmissionNew driveshaft and u-joints4 wheel disc brakesNew front wheel bearings and sealsUpgraded master cylinder and boosterNew rag jointNew power steering pumpNew batteryRebuilt starterAmerican Racing wheels, 17 x 7 front, 20 x 8.5 rearHankook Ventus V12 EVO Tires, 225-45-17 front, 245-40-20 rearRebuilt 3.50 ford 9” rearNew rear wheel bearings and axle seals *All of this work has been done in the past six months, all these items are new, not new three years ago! In a prior build, someone built this into a hot rod and installed a fuel cell in the trunk. This auction includes a brand new gas tank, filler neck, straps and sending unit that will need to be installed by the new owner. Fuel gauge is not currently connected, I assume it will work when connected to the new sending unit. Turn signals, brake lights, headlights and interior lights all work, instrument cluster lights do not work, I am putting a new headlight switch in before the auction ends, that will hopefully correct the problem. (the lights do work if you power 12 volts into the circuit) Probably needs a heater control valve. The valve does not leak, but it is very hard to operate and the cable will not move it, you can move it manually. The heater core is good and the blower motor and controls all work. Power windows all work and switches are all good. There is no rust. The only imperfection on the body is a very small blister on the front passenger side of the hood that can be seen in the pictures. The chrome is in great shape. The vent windows have the usual pitting and there are some minor dings on some of the trim. This auction also includes a new set of window felts that will need to be installed by the new owner. The interior is pretty nice, the seats and the headliner were redone, the door panels need attention. Overall, this is a nice straight car with no excuses. I am selling this car due to the fact that I have way too many projects and have run out of space. I am not interested in any trades, I do not have the room for anything else or the time. I have done my best giving an honest description of this car, it is a way better car than a lot of the junk being peddled out there. No one will be mad at me when they win this auction! Feel free to ask any questions or come see the car in person. Thanks for bidding!
