Vehicle Detail
1990 Chevrolet Corvette Z51 FX3 ZF6 J55 G92 Hi, my name is Alex. I am offering my beautiful 1990 Corvette Z51 for sale here on eBay. The listing will start at just $0.99 and the car will be sold to the highest bidder. Please bid with confidence as I have sold many cars here since I became a member back in July, 26 of 2003, I have 118 Feedback Score, and 100% Positive feedback! I have nothing to hide and I encourage any potential buyer to come see and inspect the car in person. This car is an amazing and unrestored ALL ORIGINAL survivor. It only has 34,032 original miles and runs and operates as you would expect a car with such low mileage should! A little background: I found this car back in November of 2010 at Rogers Corvette in Florida. When I found the car I instantly fell in love, placed a deposit on it over the phone, and booked a flight out to Florida to go see the car over the Thanksgiving Holiday. I arrived at the airport where I was picked up by an old friend who I hadn’t seen since he moved for Los Angeles in 2005 and headed to his home where we caught up with life. The following morning I made arrangements for a rental car and set my destination on my GPS to Rogers Corvette in Maitland FL. When I arrived the car was sitting outside and was stunningly beautiful sitting there in the FL sun. I looked over the car from the inside and out and quickly asked to test drive it. It ran perfect on the drive and felt just like the car did back when they were new. I was ecstatic and brought her back to Rogers Corvette with a huge smile on my face from the powerful L98 V8. I quickly drove to the bank to get the rest of the money then returned to purchase the car in full. She was mine now and I had to get her home to Los Angeles. There was no way I would risk the drive of this perfectly preserved Corvette all the way from FL to CA so I contacted DAS Auto Shipping to handle the logistics of the vehicle. The arrangements were made and the car was picked up soon after. I always use DAS as they have time and time again delivered and shipped cars for me with no issues to date. I spent thanksgiving with my friend and his family met some new faces and friends and had a blast! I soon made my departure from FL back to CA and arrived home a few hours later. I couldn’t stop thinking about the car and was anxious like a little kid waiting for a toy in the mail out of a cereal box. Two long weeks later she finally arrived to the DAS Terminal in Gardena, CA. and I left my shop to go get my new toy. She arrived in one piece and as beautiful as she had left Rogers Corvette Center two weeks earlier. I filled out the delivery and inspection sheet and I was off. I got her smogged and she passed (CA Smog) with flying colors on the first try as a car with this mileage and this condition should. I then made my way to the AAA in Torrance, CA. and finished doing the title transfer and received my new plates and tags! She was ready to drive, show off, and enjoy. And that is exactly what I did. And I have been doing so till this day ever since! Sadly, it is time to find this amazing car a new home. I have had a ton of fun with her and have enjoyed the attention she draws when I take her to car meets and shows. People love Corvettes and I can’t say I blame them. Well preserved any Corvette will always be a beautiful car to own, drive, and look at. And at the end of the day a Corvette will always be a Corvette! Condition: What can I say about the condition on this car? It’s as perfect of an example as you are going to find of a 1990 Corvette. I have seen other Corvettes of the same vintage and with the same or less miles and they are not as nice and original as this car is. The pictures speak for themselves as to the amazing condition of this car. But honestly, the pictures don’t do the car justice. I encourage anyone that’s interested in this Corvette to come see it in person. Why? You’ll fall in love and want to bid higher which works out great for me! =] Performance: When speaking to the man himself, Roger at Rogers Corvette he eagerly told me all about the car and how rare of a options combination this car is. He told me that every single Performance Option available for a 1990 Corvette Coupe was ordered on this particular car. It has the following Performance (RPO) Options: Z51 Performance Handling Package which included things like Heavy Duty Radiator and extra Radiator Cooling fan, Engine Oil Cooler, Firmer Sway Bar Bushings, Higher Rated Spring Rates, and even a faster Steering Rack. FX3 Adjustable Ride and Firmness which lets you select between 3 driving and handling modes. The first mode is the TOURING mode which is where I drive the car most of the time on the street. It offers a very compliant and comfortable ride which I really enjoy. Especially after a long day at work. Let’s face it the handling of the Corvettes suspension is great but the ride of the standard suspension after a long rough day isn’t. The second mode is SPORT mode. This is a nice middle ground for when you’re feeling a nice firm ride and want to have some fun around corners. Still compliant enough for the street but firm enough for some fun. The third mode is PERFORMANCE mode. This mode considerably stiffens and firms up suspension tuning for all out sport driving. This is the mode you want for a drive through a twisty back road or a cruise through a place like Malibu. The car handles amazing and will still out handle many of todays sports cars! The C4 Corvette was that good and remains so to this day. It set many records in NASA and destroyed many competitors dreams and moral with other high dollar sports cars. The car is still competitive in NASA to this day actually! Not that you would use this beauty to wheel to wheel race. J55 (GS) Brake Upgrade. This upgrade was what came standard many years later in 1996 on the Grand Sport Corvette. It consist of a larger and more powerful 2 piston Aluminum Brake Caliper, 13” Brake Rotor, and an upgraded Brake Caliper Bracket to accommodate the larger brake setup. These puppies stop the car like they were meant to be on a 747 and not a lightweight sports car! G92 Performance Axle Ratio. This was an upgraded gear ratio inside of the Dana 44 rear differential which is also outfitted with a limited slip. Rogers Corvette told me this car was factory outfitted with 3:45’s for faster acceleration. And let me tell you, this car gets up and goes! L98 350ci/5.7Liter V8. This car has the performance exhaust system which boosted the standard L98’s 245 Horse Power and 345 FT/LB of Torque to 250 Horse Power and 350 FT/LB of Torque! This exhaust system was also only available on the coupes and not the convertibles. ZF-6 Speed. This is a rare find as most of these Corvettes were automatics. This transmission shifts like butter and is a pleasure to drive. It’s very direct yet smooth and unlike most domestic manual transmissions like say a Tremec. ZF is from Germany and while I don’t like German cars very much there are certain things that the Germans make that are just truly very nice. This ZF-6 transmission is one of those things. Dana 44 Rear Differential. This is a very sturdy and strong differential that came only on a Corvette outfitted with a ZF-6 Speed Transmission. People with Automatic Transmission Corvettes got the smaller and weaker Dana 36 Rear Differential. These Dana 44 Differentials are so strong that they were even used on 4x4 Jeeps! People drag race these C4 Corvettes have gotten them to go as fast as into the 8 second range in the quarter mile with this same Dana 44 Differential. I can’t say enough of how great a differential this is. Running condition: The car runs like a champion with only 34k miles. The engine fires up immediately with no prolonged cranking. It has no oil leaks. Passes smog without so much as a hiccup and has tons and tons of power. No smoking of any kind from the exhaust or weird smells. Runs smooth with no hesitations, vibration, or misfires. Also, if you care with a car such as the Corvette, in 6th gear @70mph will get as high as 27mpg! The transmission shifts flawlessly and positively into all gears. No grinds or hesitations are present during shifting. No weird noises. The clutch is perfect with no funny smells or slippage. This is to be expected as the car was preserved as a collector car by mature gentlemen and not driven by some young teenager trying to impress his girlfriend or other friends. Interior: All electric accessories work as they should. From the different modes on the instrument cluster down to the power seats everything works on this car. The pop up lamps work in sync with each other and have no play. The lamps fire and switch low to high beams as they should. All turn signals work as they should. Brake lights work as they should. License plate lights are fully operational. The leather interior is well preserved with wrinkling that is normal for any leather seat. There is no cracking or tears in the leather. The dash and door panels are all mint with no cracking. All switches are perfectly legible and clear. None are cracked or broken. No play in any either, they are nice and tight. All AC vents are in perfect condition. Many times these are broken but not the case with this car. Power door locks operate as they should on both doors. Power windows operate as they should with no binding or weird noises. No hesitation at all. All interior lights from the gauge cluster to the vanity mirror lights work as they should. All gauges work as they should. Both power mirrors work as they should. Both hatch releases work as they should. Hood release works as it should. The climate control works as it should. Radio works as it should and sounds very nice with good bass and all. Selective ride control knob works as it should. Suspension: The steering on the car is nice and tight with no play in the steering. The tires I believe are the originals or at least were replaced at some point with the original equipment tires. They have plenty of thread left as you can see in the pictures with no abnormal wear on them meaning the cars suspension is aligned and working properly. The FX3 ride selectable modes work as they should and are one of my favorite features of the car. This is a very desirable option on these Corvettes! The car tracks perfectly and steers without a hitch. No weird clunks or rattles. The steering wheel is centered when driving straight. Exterior: The car has beautiful and shiny bright red paint. No fading or foggy clear anywhere on the body. This car was garaged all of its life. All gaskets and seals are in perfect condition and the car has no interior water leaks from anywhere. Nothing outside is broken or missing. The air dam consists of 3 pieces and is all present. All emblems and badges are present and beautiful. The doors and the hatch all open and close perfectly. The doors have no sagging present. The hood release works as it should and allows you to open and close the hood with no issues. The hood prop is there and works just as it should. The rear hatch gas struts lift the glass quickly and effortlessly as soon as it’s released open with one of the two hatch release buttons in the interior of the car. All exterior light lenses and lamps are nice and clear with no yellowing or fogginess. No cracks or water leaks. Payment: I will accept PayPal for a $500.00 deposit due within 48 hours of the auctions end free of charge. PayPal can be used to complete the whole transaction if we come to that agreement. But the 3% PayPal fee that is charged to the person receiving the money will be added to the purchase price and covered by the buyer. I believe this is only fair. Note: The $500.00 deposit is nonrefundable. I will accept a bank cashier’s check. The car will not go anywhere until the money has cleared in my bank account. I will also accept cash in person. Note: Full payment for the car is due within 7 days unless the buyer and myself have come to a different agreement. Do not bid if you cannot afford the car or do not have the funds available to follow through with the transaction. Shipping: I can assist the new buyer with shipping arrangements. I have a DAS Auto Shippers Terminal not too far away from me and I can deliver the car to them with no problem so that transportation will be cheaper. It costs more money if the shipping company has to come pick the car up from me personally. Again, I have used them many times before and they have always been great so I trust them and recommend them. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. I will sell this car to any part of the U.S.A. and any part of the world as well. I have sold cars on eBay and have shipped them as far as Puerto Rico. Any prospective buyers outside of the U.S.A. please contact me before placing bids on the car. Any person with 0 feedback score please contact me before bidding as well. I understand your account may be new and of course we all have to start somewhere. I reserve the right to cancel or question any bid and its placer. This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the action before its end if a buyer presents him or herself locally. This car is being sold as is and where is. No warranty is expressed and or implied. This Corvette is maintained and serviced by two Corvette Specialty Shops and has been thoroughly looked over and inspected by both to insure that the car is operating in tip top shape. Warning: As perfect and preserved as this car is, it IS NOT a new car. It is as close to new as you will find but hasn’t been new since 1990. Again, I encourage any prospective buyer to come see the car in person as I have nothing to hide and am confident that I have described it as accurately as possible. You can contact me at any time at (310) 710-6903. My name is Alex and I will gladly and eagerly answer any and all questions you may have about the car and or make arrangements to show the car to any prospective buyer. All used vehicles should be assumed to have some degree of wear. I do not manufacture my product for sale. Each vehicle brand has its strengths, styles, tendencies, and shortcomings. Therefore, despite my best efforts to verify a vehicle's mechanical condition, I am not able to warranty a manufacturer’s workmanship or a previous owner’s diligence in care. It is for this reason that all vehicles of mine are sold "AS IS" and there are no mechanical guarantees expressed or implied by myself no matter how pristine any of my cars are. In an effort to protect the eBay user information and to help ensure the authenticity of correspondence between myself and prospective bidders, eBay’s new listing format does NOT display any bidder information. Nevertheless, I STRONGLY encourage bidders to contact me directly to answer questions or to verify correspondence. All of my vehicles are advertised locally and nationally using a variety of listing formats and at times sell before the end of eBay listings. To secure this vehicle, please contact me and a deal can be arranged. Good luck to all and bid with confidence. This is a No Reserve auction so the highest bidder wins this awesome Corvette! Thank you all for your time! I hope you enjoy my listing and find it detailed and informative. -Alex. (310) 710-6903. If I don’t answer please leave me a detailed message including name and return phone number and I will return the call as soon as possible!
