Vehicle Detail

You're looking at a 1961 Porsche 356 T5B Reuter Coupe with a chassis number of 113910 and non matching engine # of P61532. From the research I have done on the car it was built in late 1960 for the 1961 model year and came off the factory line as an Ivory white over Red leather interior. I purchased the car in Columbus Ohio out of a garage where it had been sitting since the early 2000's, prior to that the car was owned by an Ohio State professor who I believe drove the car around campus until mid-late 80's (receipts to show this) when he began disassembling the car for a partial restoration. He lost interest in the car and sold it to the previous owner as a restoration project. The car was hauled to a reputable body shop in Athens Ohio where it received new floor pans and the body work began, part way through the restoration the previous owner ran out of funds to complete the car and had it hauled back to the garage where it sat for the last 10+ years and where I rescued it. As it sits now, as you can tell from the photos, it needs completely disassembled and media blasted to begin the process of getting this car back on the road. It suffers from some significant corrosion issues that many of these midwest/northeast cars have experienced over the years. The engine turns over by hand and the car rolls very easily for transportation. The only identification number on the tranny I can find is Ko2108 that is just below the input shaft. There are several NOS metal panels that have been previously purchased for the restoration including new longitudinals and front inner fenders (closing panels) there is also a significant amount of new rubber still in the plastic that was purchased several years ago. I have been through most of the parts and believe that 95% if not all of the little pieces are with the car. The windshield was broken but all other glass is with the car and in great shape. I could spend hours writing up a description of ever part of this car, however, moral of the story is anyone interested in the car needs to physically come look at it prior to bidding. If you're familiar with these cars then you probably know the amount of work and metal fabrication that will be required to get this car back on the road. I believe this to be a very good starting point for a great restoration project and was going to tackle it myself but have too many other projects at the moment. There are several sites out there with loads of information on these cars such as the 356 registry and there are experts on these cars all over the country. Look at all the photos and if you have any questions feel free to call (740)-398-2370 or message me anytime. Occasionally it may take me a day to get back to you due to my work schedule but I'll do my best to respond ASAP. I am capable of delivering the car for a fee within a reasonable distance and dependent on my work schedule I'm in Detroit, MI quite often so if you're up north that would be an easy meeting point or drop off. It will be the buyers responsibility to arrange shipment of the car and it must be picked up within a week of purchase unless prior arrangements are made. Thanks for looking, Nate
