We bought the Ramcharger in 1987 and are the second owners. No one has ever smoked in this vehicle and it was never abused. It always did what our scout troop asked of it and I have held onto it for sentimental reasons - always planning to restore it. I have removed most of the chrome and have it all kept inside the truck - along with other parts from donor ramchargers. I'd taken the top half of the engine apart in the late 1990s and had the heads rebuilt. The truck is 100% original and has only had some minor accidents over the years - nothing that ever affected it's ability to run true. It has a "hidden hitch" receiver and has hauled trailers full of canoes, scout gear, and 4 generations of our family over thousands of miles in the Midwest. Since the rust has taken a toll on it I've kept it in my garage most of the time to slow the decay. I still pull it out a few times each year to enjoy the ride (nothing like it) and to get to work when the snow is over the highways (it's never been stuck). If you are looking for a rebuilder - this is a good choice. If you're looking for a parts vehicle, I could live with that too - just don't tell me when you've had to say the final goodbye. We've had a lot of fun together and our sons learned to drive a stick in this reliable vehicle (yep, this isn't the original clutch - it's the 3rd). It has a new radiator (a couple of years old now) and, again, the engine is strong. I hope it goes to a good body person and is restored to the condition we got it in back in January 1987.
