Vehicle Detail
For your consideration is a 1996 Ford Mustang Mystic SVT Kenne Bell Supercharged DOHC Cobra. This is one fast car and a blast to drive, Mystic Cobra 828 of 2000 in 1996. It has a newly rebuilt 4.6 liter DOHC motor (approx 1000 miles on rebuild) with a Kenne Bell TS1000 supercharger. It has a 5 speed transmission, new Centerforce clutch and Pro 5.0 shifter with a neochrome shift ball that matches the car. BBK Cold Air Intake, coated full length headers and an Off Road X Pipe (No Cats). It has a 8.8 posi rear axle with 4.11 rear gears. New chrome Bullitt style wheels with new Nitto 555 NS tires. Fronts are 17x9 with 275 40ZR17 tires and Rears are 17x10.5 with 315 35ZR17 tires. Black leather interior in great condition (with just one small hole in the drives seat), especially for the age. New Cobra floor mats, new starter, new air pump, new Die Hard battery and new front O2 sensors. It has the stock AM/FM/Cassette/CD Mack 460 sound system. Air Conditioning blows cold. Car tracks straight and handles well in the corners. Saleen style SR Double stack rear wing finishes off the race car look. All the work listed above was done by the previous owner. I have reciepts for the vast majority of it. I have had the car for about 6 months but with 2 young kids and long hours at work, I just have not had the chance to enjoy it like I had hoped. I do not need to sell it and I do not need the money but it would be nice if someone could enjoy this beauty more than i am able to at this point in my life. I detailed it with clay bar, glaze and hand wax using Adam's products last month and it looks fantastic. This beautiful car has plenty of speed and power to get you in trouble. I would not recommend this vehicle for a young or inexperienced driver. I have bought and several vehicles over the years on eBay and try to disclose everything I know or have come accross. I tend to be pretty picky and some of these items may or may not bother you. 1. I would recommend an aftermarket radiator with more cooling capacity if you live in a hot climate like I do. On hot Las Vegas days with the stock radiator and current tune, this car tends to run on the warmer end of the temperature gauge. It has never overheated on me but if i were to keep it, I would make this investment. 2. With the motor still being new, it is dripping a little oil in a couple places on the floor of the garage. I have not crawled under to take a look as it is mimimal but wanted to mention it. 3. The motor on the drivers seat is still working but seems to be weak. It may need to be replaced at some time in the future and is a common problem with SN95 cars. 4. The instrument cluster was replaced at some place in the past and currently shows 42k on the odometer. I am guesstimating that current mileage on the chassis to be 117k but with all the work done on it, you would never know it. it looks and drives like a car with much closer ot the 42k on the currently on the clock. It is irrelevent in most states as after 9 years, the mileage is exempt anyway. 5. The aftermarket X pipe does not have cats which could be a problem if the state/county you live in requires an emissions test. It is a bolt in item that can be replaced for about $300 if needed. The Check Engine light is currently disconnected due to the lack of cats. 6. The entire car was repainted at some point in the past and they did a pretty good job. I have not been able to find any overspray and unless you check the jams in the trunk or closely in the door jams, you would probably never know. I dont want to discount the car at all but I want to make sure you know what you are bidding on. I take very good care of my cars and have been fortunate enough to have the new owner of most vehicles I have sold to tell me that it was better than described. This is something I take pride in. Overall, the is a rare Mystic SVT Cobra that attracts attention everywhere it goes. The newly rebuilt motor and Kenne Bell supercharger are a big bonus. Car fires right up, sounds great, has a race stance, goes straight down the road (with the rear tires smoking if you desire) and corners nicely. If you don't want constant attention, this is not the car for you. I have done the best I can to honestly describe this Cobra to the best of my ability. That being said, it is sold as is, where is. There is no warranty expressed or implied. You are welcome and encouraged to come out to Las Vegas for a couple days, enjoy our triple digit summer temperatures and inspect it for yourself. I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have. I am not interested in any trades as I still have more vehicles that I can drive. Good Luck!
