Vehicle Detail

1966 MSUTANG CONVERTIBLEALABAMA CAR...VERY SOLID BODY V8 ENGINE THAT RUNS SWEET 3 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION+++POWER STEERING NICE WIRE SPINNER HUB CARS AND GOOD TIRESEXTRA NICE INTERIOR....GREAT TOPDRIVER QUALITY RED PAINT VIN 6R07C170387 Mileage: Reading 98890, could be original, but who really knows. MY PRICE IS VERY FIRM ON THIS CAR!!! Its the same for a dealer or private buyer. TITLE: The title is now a clear Tennessee title with a VIN that matches the car, it does state previous state of title was Alabama. HISTORY: I don't have any history on this car other than it came from Alabama to Old Hickory, Tennessee in October of 2012. Old Hickory is near Nashville, Tennessee. WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please here this!!!!!! This is a sweet convertible, but it was born a coupe. I did not even notice it until a buyer ran the VIN and let me know. The builder used a solid coupe and a convertible as a donor car. The top fits real good, it goes up and down good, all the trim pieces are correct, it was done right. The only thing I can find is the extras support under the car that convertibles have is done with frame connector instead of a flat plate. If you want a good deal in a car that you have to run the VIN to know the difference this could be for you. UP FRONT TIME SAVER: This is a good looking car, its a good running, good driving car, it stops good. It is not perfect, its drive and enjoy quality and it priced that way. Beware of pictures, my car looks like a near perfect show car in pictures. It is not perfect, its nice, you will find little flaws in the paint if you look for them, they will not show up in pictures. The convertible top is in very good condition, the engine is sweet, the transmission shifts good, the brakes decent, most front-end parts are new, the body is solid for a convertible, someone added frame extensions for strength. Frame extensions are strong connectors that connect the front sub-frame to the back sub-frame. The Mustang was a unibody like lots of other old cars, the front and back frame members were not connected, frame extensions are smart, they make the framework stronger. WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a nice car, the chrome, glass decent, top, and mechanical are good, but the paint is not show quality. If it was show quality the car would sell for a ton more. The paint is driver quality, by driver quality I mean: just to look at the car overall it looks good (some people call this a 10 footer), to look and inspect the paint you will find specs in the paint, minor flaws, a couple of dings and touched up chips. It would help to buff the car, but I don't have the time and it will satisfy lots of people just the way it is. Buffing will not make it perfect just nicer. The body is very solid and that's hard to find. I just don't want you to look at the pictures to judge the car. Lots of people buy by the pictures and are disappointed when they get the car. Fact of like, your not going to get a $20,000 paint job and a perfect car for $15,999, you should get a good driver. I could lie and sell this car for the $23,000, but it would not be right. IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS? No structural problems, the frame is solid, the floors good, I see a couple of small rusty places in the thin untreated sheet metal, I could cover them up real easy, but they are causing no problem and very minor. I consider that the car has a very good body, it came from the deep south where not much salt is used on the roads. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find, I see a couple of very small ripples in a inner fender sheet metal, but the frame looks very straight. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? I’m a 66 year old retired mechanic/classic car restorer/auto mechanics intructor, when I find a car I like, can sell for a fair market price and make a few bucks, I buy it fix a few things and resell. PAINT: The car has a nice shine, no rusty places, most every thing looks like it was taken off before the car was painted. No big dents, no peeling paint, no faded paint. The paint job is weak to my standards, but very usable. It all depends on your standards, if you want show quality, this paint job is not for you, "get ready to spend a lot more money". If you want a good car to drive and enjoy this car may be for you. Driver quality to me means, you will find specs in the paint, you will have some minor flaws, the car was not block sanded for 3 extra days before the paint was applied, you may have some minor orange peel. CHROME AND BRIGHTWORK: The chrome is nice, the bumpers look like new, the emblems fine, the tail light bezels very nice, gas cap nice, trunk bezel nice, door handles shine good, but have some minor pits. INTEROR: Good interior, I like the split front seat the has the fold down arm rest. No real wear or cracking, no bad fading, the interior is nice. CONVERTIBLE TOP: The top is very nice, its not brand new, but real good with no holes, no bad wrinkles, no stitching loose, the back window is clear, it is manual, but goes up and down good. GLASS: Clear windshield with a faint wiper mark and some fine scuffs, all the window roll up and down good for a Mustang. ENGINE: The engine is a nice running V8 289 cubic inch with 2 barrel carburetor, it has no blue smoke, no unwanted noises. Its a good engine! It has no bad oil leaks, but like any old car I have ever owned it will leave a few drops of oil on your nice clean floor. EXHAUST SYSTEM: Good used condition, it is the original style and single. TRANSMISSION: Its a 3 speed automatic that shifts good. C4 is Fords name for it. REAR-END: No whines or growls, its a 8 inch Ford and not positive traction, I have not checked the ratio, but its a highway gearing. BRAKES: Good brakes, they are drums all around. STEERING: Good, the car drives good for a Mustang, it is power steering. WHEELS AND TIRES: Good radial tires with nice Ford wire hubcaps with spinners. SOUND SYSTEM: It is over kill, it a nice system with a Pioneer radio with CD player mounted under the dash with large speakers and amplifier in the trunk. The system is a blaster! LIGHTS: They work, turn signals work, headlights work, tail lights work, brake lights work. SPEEDOMETER WORKS! GAS GAUGE WORKS! wipers work! HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE? I think they open and close good for a Mustang. PANEL FIT: They all fit good for a Mustang, this is not perfect, they were not perfect from the Ford factory, this one is better than most. CAN I DRIVE THE CAR HOME? The car drives good and everything I have checked is in good condition, but I do not recommend driving any old car home. Reason, I test drive them like a garage doing repair work would, I do not take long trips in them, so it worries me when people head out in a old car. TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just to hard! The rest of the information is boring unless you are really interested in buying the car, its just buying details like shipping, paperwork, who I am, where the car is located and how to pay and contact information. CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM Eastern Time or on Sunday morning or Sunday nights. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com PAPERWORK: I know what to do! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a Tennessee licensed/bonded car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”. I RESERVE TH RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET. WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my home in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles south of Knoxville. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee. I am 66 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 42. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam. I’m Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American. I’ve been married to the same good woman for almost 43 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75) and 35 miles south of interstate 40, so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car, this can be by PayPal, but I will not take full payment by PayPal. Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had a fake bank certified check. Option 3: The safest and fastest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is called wire transfer. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 64 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but most of them do not impress me at all, most really don’t know what to look at, they make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first! TRADES: Please no trades! BOTTOM LINE: My price is $16,999, I'm asking more on the local market. The game is not rocket science, ask a price on the local markety and come down. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down. PLEASE!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Come look at this vehicle. Please don’t hit the Buy Now button unless your ready to really buy it! Do your research, call me with questions, read my feed backs, I am ebay verified; this means they say I’m a real person in a real place. I WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE AND PLEASE DON’T BE A CRY BABY. Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info. Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com IS THERE A WARRANTY? No!
