Vehicle Detail
I am re-listing AGAIN because high bidder could not complete the purchase. Please read the auction completely and bid only if you have the ability and intend to buy the car. I have tried to completely list everything good and bad with the car. If there's something I haven't covered in the description please feel free to ask any questions. The car is available for anyone to come look at before the auction closes. I live in Lancaster, KY. This is a really nice 1973 Plymouth Roadrunner clone. This is not a show car, it's not perfect but it is a nice looking car and runs and drives great. The pictures do not do it justice. This car started life as a triple white Plymouth Satellite Seebring Plus. Frankly the triple white Satellite is a pretty rare color combo and likely more rare than the Roadrunner. The previous owner did the Roadrunner conversion and did a pretty good job of it. It definitely garners a lot of attention and even looks good standing still. Interior: New headliner and carpet. The seats look great with no tears or cracks. There are a couple buttons missing from driver seat from snagging on pants. Seats are in like new condition otherwise. I have some replacement buttons I will include. The plastic door panels are in fair condition and in need of replacement to make interior perfect. The dash has a few cracks on the top but I have a molded dash cover that will go on it and make the dash look like new. I have one on my Challenger and you can't tell it's there. It looks like the factory dash cap. I have not installed it but will include it in the sale. Slapstick shifter with console looks great. Gauges all work as they should. Rear view mirror shows its age and could use replacing. It has the typical black spots that mirror get with age. An aftermarket steering wheel was installed by the previous owner. I have an original steering wheel for the car that I will include with the car. Drivetrain: The 318 Motor was rebuilt by the previous owner approximately two years ago and has less than 5K miles on it. The automatic transmission was also rebuilt at the same time. Car drives great with plenty of power and has no leaks or noises in the motor. The rear end makes no noise and the brakes stop as they should. The car is mechanically sound with no known issues. This is an air conditioned car. The compressor is mounted but the condenser and hoses are not installed. I all have the hoses, brackets and what looks like a near new condenser ready to go in. All you will need to add is a new compressor. The car drives straight and steering is crisp with no play. The car drives great and has no known mechanical issues. Body: The body is very straight and solid. The paint looks great. It is not a show car but a really nice driver driver. It is very shiny and has no orange peel or fading. It's a really sharp looking car. The floor pans and trunk pans are perfect. It looks like the trunk pan was replaced at some point. They did a gpod job of it. The frame, trunk and floors are all solid with no rust issues. Typical of these old Mopars, there are some small rust bubbles starting just above the driver rear wheel well. There's also some small rust bubbles starting around the back window and one on the rear drivers corner above the bumper. Most people don't notice them but I do want to disclose everything. There are no rust holes or rust breaking through the paint. These are the only areas where bubbles or signs of rust exist and they are not very bad. The bumpers are good but not concourse show quality. They have some slight pitting and a few blemishes from age. They still shine up great and look nice. They are not dented or bent. The guy who previously painted the car painted the engine compartment black. and did a nice job of it. I personally don't like it but will leave that to the next owner to change if they desire. Most people never even give it a second thought but I like the engine compartment to be body color. The engine and transmission were painted body color. Again, not my first choice but it was done well. The windshield wiper assembly is missing one control rod. I have the wipers and all hardware except the one piece of linkage. I also have a brand new wiper motor that I will include. I never drive it in the rain so it hasn't been a priority for me. This is a great car to cruise around in. It is a real attention getter and you will be proud to own it. BF Goodrich TA tires are like new with 275-60-15 in the back and 225/60/15 in the front. The brakes and suspension are in great shape too. I have tried to be very open and forthcoming with the description. On a scale from 1 to 10 with a 10 being perfect showroom condition I would rate this car a solid 7. It has some issues but with a little work this could be a real showpiece. There is no reserve so the high bidder will get it. I do have it listed locally and reserve the right to end listing early if it sells. I have it listed locally for $12,500. I might consider a trade to a Cummins pickup or other Mopars. I really like B bodies. I live in Lancaster, KY. Send me an email if you would like to come see the car prior to the auction end. Please do not bid unless you are intending to complete the purchase and have the funds to do so. I expect a $500 deposit at the end of the auction. Please feel free to ask any questions.
