Vehicle Detail
(Sorry for the long description, but I am thorough.) This is a really nice, low-mileage, rust-free, 2 owner, original and stock FJ62. It has spent its life in New Mexico until very recently and has been very well-maintained and serviced by a Toyota dealer in New Mexico. The previous owner was actually the GM of that Toyota dealership and this vehicle was kept at his hunting lodge and driven sparingly but regularly since he acquired it in the 1990s. The vehicle has records for everything performed by that dealership, including a transmission rebuild 8k miles ago. Regular oil changes, brakes, filters, oxygen sensors, axle services, coolant flushes, spark plugs, gaskets, etc.... Services were done on a time schedule and not a mileage schedule during his ownership as well. The miles listed and on the odometer ARE ACTUAL MILES. Disregard the Autocheck and Carfax. Original owner checked a box on the title he shouldnt have when selling it, which is why the history reports state not actual mileage. The service records show a regular accumulation of miles from 1997, when it had 104k, until now at 136k. The service manager at the dealership, whom I spoke with, also verified the mileage. There are also tell-tale signs on 62s like the driver seat and foot pedals which are in very good condition on this truck with only slight wear. I will provide all records and information on that dealership and contact info to the buyer/winning bidder. MECHANICAL:The engine runs and idles great. It does not smoke and it does not burn any oil. There is a little wetness at the junction between engine and trans, but very little, maybe a drop a week. The oil pan gasket and valve cover gasket were replaced at 130k. Recent spark plugs and oxygen sensors, among other maintenance items. Obviously all OEM Toyota parts. The engine really hums like a Singer. The transmission shifts better than any FJ62 with an A440F that I have driven, and I have driven and owned many. Shifts are crisp and firm. Understandable since it was rebuilt less than 10k miles ago. The vehicle does not have the factory tow package, which means no transmission fluid cooler, which, combined with the desert heat, is probably what led to its early demise. The transfer case and 4WD works as it should; 4-low makes for a great stump-puller and Jeep extractor. Hubs turn freely. Brakes and steering are fine, no issues. New brakes at 133k. The shocks are OEM Toyota shocks and more than likely original. Tires are 31" BFG All Terrains with over 50% tread. New muffler at 133k. Front and rear diffs serviced at 135k. Coolant flush at 135k. New battery last month. All exterior lights and bulbs work, i.e. side markers, license plate lights, signals, etc...two new low-beam headlights. INTERIOR:The interior is all original and really clean with no odors. It has a few spots here and there, but very minor, and the carpet and upholstery definitely looks even better in person than it does in pics. Apparently my camera picks up things that the naked eye does not. All power options work including power windows, locks, mirrors and even the power antenna. The dash is flawless with no cracks at all. The headliner is spotless. It does have a Kenwood CD player installed with auxiliary input. There were also two little tweeters installed in the doors, very discreet and hardly noticeable, and can be seen in the pics. It does have a dealer installed cruise control system, (FJ62s were never offered with cruise control from the factory in the US). It is a Dana unit, and is currently disconnected but can be connected easy enough. Air Conditioning works great and blows cold. Missing the factory front floor mats, but has the factory second row floor mat. There is one spot in the cargo area where the carpet is faded and worn away, just behind the seat back, maybe 6" around. The rear dome light needs a bulb. EXTERIOR:Unfortunately, the paint did not survive the desert sun and heat and so it was repainted at some point. Upon very close inspection, there is some overspray here and there, but overall it looks pretty good. I'd give it a 8 out of 10. Most people wouldnt notice the flaws, but I am picky. However, there is NO RUST ANYWHERE. The engine bay is one of the cleanest I have seen on a 62. All the bolts are still that shiny gold color. I rinsed it off and wiped it with a little soapy water but did not pressure wash or degrease or "dress" it. I only rinsed the undercarriage with water, no pressure washing, degreasing or coating with anything to cover up any issues. There is a dent in the front bumper, just behind the tow hook, from the bumper being pushed back slightly. There is another vey small, shallow dent just behind passenger front wheel well, only visible at certain angles. The roof was perfect before the transporter backed it off his truck when it arrived in SC from NM. The top of the rear edge of the Cruiser hit two posts on the bottom of the second level of the transport truck, if that makes sense. You can see this in the pics. I had an automotive paint specialist touch it up; it is very hard to even see from ground level. The transporter was lucky to leave my property with all his limbs. This truck does have an aftermarket roof rack installed, (again, FJ62s were not offered with roof racks from the factory). It seems to be pretty sturdy and there are no signs of any leaks as evidenced by the excellent condition of the headliner. I will add that it has been rained on, very heavily, a few times recently. The vehicle retains all the original Toyota glass. MISCELLANEOUS: This Cruiser comes with its original owners manual as well as some of the other pamphlets that come when new, as well as the manual for the stereo. It also includes the original Toyota tool kit complete with all the tools and the jack. The Cruiser has the original spare underneath. I will also provide a printout of all the services performed by the dealership and multiple registrations showing the dealer as being the previous owner. I am a licensed dealer, a lifelong automotive enthusiast, and a Land Cruiser fanatic and specialist. I have sold several 40s, 62s, 80s and 100s, a few of them on eBay for which you can see my feedback. I like the auction format, so Id like to see it hit my reserve, which is low. I will not disclose how low, however, so dont bother asking. Have all funds in order prior to bidding, I do not provide financing! I can personally deliver the vehicle to the buyer up to a certain distance, or help facilitate shipping, at buyers' expense, once all funds have been transferred. There is no warranty on the vehicle, expressed or implied. SC residents pay sales tax, tag, and title. Please contact me through eBay with any questions. Thanks!Motorade LLCmotoradellc.com
