Vehicle Detail

I have for sale an extremely nice 1992 Porsche 359 D replica, complete with roll up windows. I purchased the car for its original owner who had purchased it at an auto show in California in the early 1990's from a Canadian manufacturer. The car was and still is equipped with a Kilometer Odometer and Speedometer. (This is easily changed out with a US gauge) He kept the car in California for a number of years and then drove it to his second home in Oregon. From then on it became the weekend country club and dinner date car. The car is titled as a 1963 Volkswagon. I called Henry at Intermecannica to see if it was one of his cars. I sent him numerous pictures and he surmized that it was, although he could not completely explain why the VIN # did not start with IM. It has the tubular frame, the larger, wider foot area in the cabin for the driver and passenger, the trigger short shifter, the correct door panels, the hartz cloth top, the hartz cloth boot, etc, etc. It even has windshield washers that actually work. A current style radio is installed with the blue tooth option. It has the normal chips and small scratches that are associated with a car of its age. I have owned a 2007 Speedster replica by a California manufacturer and there is no comparison. This car is as solid as a rock and I would not hesitate driving it anywhere. The doors close like a real German car. The windows roll up and down flawlessly and the top actually fits like a glove. It has a 1600 VW engine with twin carbs that starts effortlessly and performs as it should. There is a small oil leak that I suspect would be corrected by a valve cover gasket. It is very minimal and usually disappears the more it is driven. All of the lights, turn signals etc. work as they should. The heater and blower work very well. Also included with the sale is an original style shifter and 4 chrome wheels. Please call Steve at 913-634-0040 with questions. I will answer them the best that I can. I am only selling because of an opportunity to purchase a late model C4S from a local PCA member. Take a look at the pics and call with questions. Thanks for looking. On Jul-22-13 at 17:40:19 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer a couple of questions: It has a highway gear that comfortably cruises at 70 mph. The 40,000 would be the mile equivalent when converting the kilometers. To change it over, all you need is the VDO gauge that recognizes miles vs kilometers. Cable should hook up directly. The doors lock and unlock with keys - a very important feature that I did not mention
