What a driver!! We took this gorgeous 55 Chevy in trade last April on a new truck. It was traded by the grandson of the original owner. It seems that his grandfather purchased the car new in 1955 and drove it for many years. He then passed away and the car stayed in the famiy but sat in a barn for many more years. He finally decided to have the car restored and keep it in the family for many more years. He took it to a local body shop and was quoted " around $5000 " to paint it so he said yes! But when the car was all done the bill was $10671.48. Well to make a very long story short he was shocked but could not get the car back until he paid in full. So he borrowed the rest of the money from his 401K and got the car out of hock vowing to keep this family heirloom forever! But 4 years went by and he never used the car much and he found himself in need of a pickup truck so he brought it in and traded it for a new Ford f250. So here we have this gorgeous ....driver quality....55 Belair that runs and drives perfect and that is the story of how that came to be! This car is a very nice driver. The paint is very nice and shiny.....driver quality....not show quality. The car purs like a kitten and drives down the road absolutely perfect. Tires, brakes, lights etc all work great. The interior is in fine shape but does not appear to be original. It has the same straight 6 engine that it came with in 1955....along with an automatic transmission. If you are looking for a hot rod, museum piece, all original show car or project....move on.
