Vehicle Detail
1969 Ford Mustang Grande 302 V8, 69,000 original miles This Mustang Grande was one of 22,182 produced in 1969. It was a luxury package that provided a combination of interior and exterior features including but not limited to wire wheel covers, fender line pin-stripe, “Grande” logo, vinyl top, simulated wood interior dash and door trim, clock, special cloth seat pattern/trim, and steering wheel with rim horn. I purchased this Mustang in 1988 from the estate of the original owner in Newington, CT. At the time the car needed some body and mechanical work, however, was running, registered and garaged with approximately 67,000 miles. From 1988 until 2002 the vehicle was garaged, unregistered, and only operated to run the engine and drive around the block. During this time minimal mechanical work was done to keep the vehicle clean, running and fluids fresh. In 2002 the vehicle had a significant work completed to replace dented, rusted, or missing body parts, bumpers and moldings. The replacement body parts, moldings and bumpers are a combination of aftermarket and salvage pieces. This included changing the color from Aztec Aqua to Vintage Burgundy. Major mechanical work included new valves, belts, hoses, wires, plugs, rear brakes, booster, master cylinder, and a re-built carburetor. Everything was completed to simply get the vehicle back on the road and in driving condition. The interior of the vehicle is in excellent condition and all original with the exception of the driver’s door panel (driver’s door hardware still original). The dashboard is cracked at the speaker. A few very minor nicks in paint. Black vinyl hardtop is in its original condition and evidence of this vehicle being garaged its entire life. The Grande wire wheel covers are aftermarket and tires new (2002). In 2005 the brake cylinders were repaired / replaced. In 2009 the fuel tank was replaced along with the fuel pump, sending unit and filter. In 2013 new radiator and heater core installed. Car is 44 years old and is being sold as-is. This vehicle is fun to drive and a head-turner. The engine runs real strong and idles well. It is being sold because I am simply not driving it enough.
