Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Here’s my story about this 1987 very clean Chevy. I purchased the truck with a bad transmission with plans to install a rebuilt one and patch the three rust spots and flip it.900r fully rebuilt not just patched up Started driving it after the trans. was installed and noticed a exhaust leak so took to the shop and got talked in to cleaning the TBI installing new exhaust manifold bolts in the right bank and a full tune up including a fuel filter .purchased new shock all the way around brakes and turned the drums and rotors. .Then the body repair began and the techs that were working on it talked me into fixing the little rust spot and removing the lower moldings and the big fender badges installing brand new ft and back glasses with new gaskets. this truck had never been painted till now. Striped the hood did the body work and painted all over with PPG waterborne tri coat Lexus pearl white. Put on 4 new tires after the wheels were painted to match the truck. cleaned her up and took her away from the shop.. Went out for a drive one day and had a vibration that it did not have until after it was painted. took it to a shop the put on new lower ball joint and tie rods no help so they told me the rear was bad .I installed new spider gears and still no relief. after trying all that that shop knew took to a frame and ft end shop and had them take a look at it. we replaced the rear with a heavy duty 308 rear.Had a 273 and also rebuilt the drive shaft you guessed it no help. finally the owner of Ron Ellis Frame and front end pulled the tires off and purchased new ones . the 2nd tire he pulled had about a quart of water in it so when I had painted the wheels and had the reinstalled the dumb ass who mounted and balanced the left water in 2 tires.Ac blows cold the body is straight with no rattles when you drive. Both fuel tanks work but the gauges are a little touchy so after over 7500.00 dollars invested I need to sell this truck my loss is your gain. any question or sympathy please email me.
