I am selling my 1978 Corvette Pace Car, this is a very original car, paint, Interior, and engine are all original. Search the VIN# 1z8748s903148 on Haggerty's web site and they will verify the VIN# is to a 1978 Corvette Pace car with the L82 Engine. I have a clean and clear title. The Corvette starts with no problems, it had a recent carb job, new radiator put in, any valves or belts that were worn out have been replaced. The car drives great, the brakes were recently worked on and all lines were replaced with new fluids and car stops great. It has Power Windows which work good, the lights pop up and down with no problems, signals all work, wipers work well, T-Tops are in good condition and do not leak (the right side T-Top will make a small rattle from time to time, but what corvette does not rattle), does not have the original stereo but has a newer stereo from the 80's, stereo and speakers work well. I have spent $2800 recently on a mechanic to get this car in safe and running condition. I will give receipts of the work and parts to new owner. The odometer says 47,000 and cannot gaurentee the miles because I am not the original owner, but miles may be correct because when I bought it, the car was stored for a long time and had not been driven. Negatives: Corvette is equipped with A/C and that does not work well, but does blow hot air. I had a petcock installed to stop hot air from coming into the cabin, but can be turned to allow all heat and air to come in, once A/C is fixed. Also, gas gauge does not work, mechanic assured me 90% that it is a gauge problem and not a sender problem. Those are the only 2 issues I know that don't work. Everything else works with no problems. Tires are in decent condition but if you want to dramatically improve the ride, you may want to replace the tires. Body and Interior: There is a scratch on the nose of the car and there is a surface scratch on the windshield but you cant see it when you are in the car, the scratch is by the lower section of the passenger side. Paint is in good condition, it is not dull but a good wax and buff will bring out the shine. The interior of the car is in good condition, but the steering wheel could be replaced or refurbished, the leather is worn out, the seats are good except for a small tear in drivers seat. I have been very hones in describing the car, I really don't want to sell it, but we are buying a new house and need the money from the sale of the Corvette. My kids love riding in it and getting a lot of attention. The C3 Corvette shape is an unforgettably beautiful shape, whoever gets the car will love owning it and looking at the curves of it. This car is not a garage queen, it is a driver and should be driven regularly and enjoyed.
