Vehicle Detail
Up for sale I have an original 1949 Chevy Styleline Deluxe 2 Door. This was the first year for Chevy's new style after the war. Features of this car were the pontoon style fenders as well as full-width bodies. Originally, this car came from the factory with a 216 inline six cylinder engine with a manual three speed shifter on the colum however this car had a transplant sometime in its life. This car now has a 235 Chevy inline six cylinder engine out of a '50's body style Chevy car. This engine includes features such as a fully pressurized oil system and hydraulic lifters along with improved horespower and torque over the stock 216 engine. The tranmission still remains the stock three speed on the colum. As far as everything on this car it is all original! This is a complete car that does run, drive and stop however it needs some love. I drive this car around my place a little bit however it will need the carb rebuilt as it does not like to stay running very long and hesitates to start at times. It does have all of the gears in the transmission. This car also still has the original six volt wiring system installed. The interior of this car...well...is definitely shows its age. The seats are complete however they will need redone. The carpet, headliner and door panels are all gone as well. The floor boards are solid with no signs of rotting anywhere aside from the obvious surface rust. The dash is complete with original gauges, radio and heater controls. The exterior of this car is really solid for the age. The only rust holes are two small areas on the front section of the rear fenders as can been seen in the pictures. Aside from that, there are no rust holes anywhere else on the vehicle. It does appear to be the orignial paint as I looked up the paint code and it was a grayish color from the factory. All the glass is intact and not cracked. The tires hold air however they are mismatched and should be replaced. All of the lights are presesnt as well. This car also has the factory bumpers as well which are solid and not rotted out which is exteremely rare and hard to find! Appears to have all of the trim pieces as well. The underneath appears to be solid and never in a collision from what I can see. Axles and suspension components are original as well. Overalll this is a great project vehicle for anyone. There are so many different routes that you could go with this car. It could anything from a rat rod to a full restoration, the options are endless! This is definitely an awesome car from anyone and it has great potential. You dont see that many of this year car around anymore, espically a two door. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me and I will get back to you asap! Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
