Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE AUCTION !!! and also Chryslers at CARLISLE, PA delivery is available. Up for grabs is a recently found after sitting for decades, 1970 Plymouth Sport Satellite. This car is a true BARN FIND, well actually a concrete floor Garage Find because it wasnt a barn, that has been kept under cover and out of sight for the past couple decades. This car comes from a private collection that is slowly being sold off and bought up by collectors. I made sure to take pictures as she was found and others after she got a nice bath and cleaned up a bit. This car is an original 318 small block Yellow car that was painted B5 blue in later years. The previous owner gave gave me the story of how it became a big block car. He had a 68 Road Runner that was rusted out and too far gone back in the 1980's, so he took the 1968 four barrell 383, and BB Automatic 727 and installed them into the solid body of the Satellite. The original Satellite rear was retained because he said that he liked the 3.23 gear ratio and how well it cruised without overrevving the engine on a long trip. Overall this car is extremely solid and has very little rust or corrosion that a normal east coast Mopar will have. Especially a B body mopar. The lower quarters were repaired years ago and it really looks to be the only spot that was ever an issue. The frame rails and floor pans in the car are Fantastic but please keep in mind that the car is over 40 years old. It aint new. The trunk floor is solid as well other than one hole that was covered near the rear about the size of an apple. I recently had the Holley 650 carb rebuilt and it runs like a dream and it holds GREAT oil pressure. The 68 383 engine was Rebuilt around the early 1990's before the car was parked. The 727 Transmission shifts great with i having a mild stall convertor and the manual brakes work great as well. I took a picture of all the gauges while the car was running and you can see that ALL of them work and it reallly shows that the car idles well, holds Great oil pressure, the fuel gauge works, its charging, and all while its at a decent operating temperature. The car does have power steering, but no a/c and no power brakes. It does have a great sounding exhaust with headers and an aluminum intake. All glass is in good shape and the interior is very good as well. This is a great cruising car to be enjoyed by spinning tires and driven like a muscle car should. This car is in NO way a show car or trailer queen. I am giving all who are interested a chance to own a rare and desireable piece of history. Most collectors have overlooked the Plymouth Satellite for years due to the Road Runner being the top seller, but not any more, with the prices of RR's topping $30,000 and $40,000 restored, the Satellite has gotten alot more attention now in the driver car category. Just to be fair i am going to start the opening bid at a crazy cheap price. If anyone is interested in me delivering this car to Carlisle, PA for the Chryslers at Carlisle swap meet and show, just email me and we can arrange it from that. I am only going to be there on Friday evening the 12th and Saturday the 13th. I am NOT shipping this car overseas and i DO NOT want any interational bidding. Good luck bidding on a rare Mopar. On Jul-02-13 at 21:06:23 PDT, seller added the following information: Just wanted to add a few things due to the amount of emails asking the same things. The frame rails and floor pans on this car are the BEST i have ever seen on an east coast Mopar that has been stored away for any amount of time. ALL glass in the car is in very good shape and the windshield is NOT hazy at all. The car does have a purple Road Runner horn on it and it does work. ALL lights on the car work, High, Low, Turn Signal, Marker and Brake lights. Even the hood blinkers funtion correctly. ALL interior lights come on when you open the doors like they are supposed to and the dash lights up at night with full glow like it is supposed to as well. The key buzzer is fully functional when you install the key and goes off when you take it out. The radio is an AM/FM 8 track player and the radio and speakers sound good. The original ignition key works the door lock and ignition. Its the same key for both and the trunk key is there and works as well. This car does have power steering. The transmission pan gasket is dripping a little but its not a major deal or a major fix. The headliner is NOT sagging and the seats do NOT have any rips or tears. I just dont want anyone getting the impression that this car is flawless. It is 43 years old and needs minor things. There are small bubbles in the bodywork bubbling up and will need to be addresed if you are looking to make a show car. As a driver car, these little spots dont hurt it one bit. ALL trim is on the car and in place. On Jul-04-13 at 15:01:11 PDT, seller added the following information: I originally had plans to do a copy of the 1970 Satellite HAMMER that was used in the Tokyo Drift movie because, with this car being so solid, it wouldnt take much to do it, mostly just paint and modern wheels. but im looking towards at another car currently. You also wont find a better or cheaper 1970 Sport Satellite than this one to do a very cheap 70 Superbird clone. This car is very solid underneath and can be driven around tomorrow with a little cleanup and attentions to detail. Yes it has some small spots of rust and pant chipping but hey its 43 years old. Just depends on how pretty you like your paint. Everyone is different. I do have to state that anyone who bids on this car needs to be VERY serious about paying for it and acutally taking it when i get to Carlisle ( if im delivering it that is) and not backing out because their wife wont let them get it or some other crazy story. I have another car to pick up at Carlisle and i cannot afford to be cacked out on. I only have room to bring one back. Please be understanding and dont bid if you have any intentions of buying it. It is an awesome driver and deserves a good home and caring owner.
