Vehicle Detail
Welcome up for auction is a FULLY RESTORED 1974 BMW 2002. The BMW 02 series was the car that brought BMW to the US market with sporting elegance. This car has been restored top to bottom. The engine was taken out over 1200 miles ago and fully rebuilt with all new bolts, gaskets and timing chain. The transmission was fully taken apart and rebuilt. A brand new clutch kit has been put in. The suspension was completely gone over with new tie rods, arms and bushing. New Bilstein shocks were added to front and back of vehicle. All new complete exhaust has been put throughout the car with a nice fat tall pipe out the back center of vehicle, giving the car a beautiful sound. The wheels are original BMW basket weave rims with a nice new set of General ALTIMAX RT tires with a real good tread. All belts have been replaced. All new fluids, filters and plugs in car. This has always been a California car so there was no major rust in the vehicle. The car then had a complete paint job in the color Galaxy Blue which has a black appearance until you get it into the sunlight and you see the blue metallic fleck shinning through. I have added a nice racing stripe to the hood in the 3 BMW colors and given the car a couple of M badges to the front and back as a way of customizing this awesome little ride. I have also added a nice air fine to the roof for style. The side lights have all new rubber added. New rubber seals were added to the door handles. The interior has had a complete restoration with a nice new clean black carpet kit. New white headliner put in. For the side panels and seats I have had them trimmed in an awesome Luis Vuitton faux leather with a an old school stich pattern(people are blown away with how cool this interior goes with this vintage vehicle) I have put on a very nice wooden Nardi Italian steering wheel with on old school chrome with blue BMW lettering horn button. I found a very old and rare BMW gear shift knob in great condition I added to the interior. The center console has a very nice JVC CD player with USB hub with a set of new oil temp gauges. Center console is also trimmed in the Luis Vuitton leather. The JVC sounds great with a pair of speakers in the back. I have added a few more fine touches like the ash trays in the back, they are from the earlier models trimmed in chrome in beautiful condition. I have also added a pair of old school chrome rear window cranks.(These old school ones add style which the black ones just add functionality) The front window is brand new with a new rubber window gasket and chrome stripping. The back window has had the rubber window gasket and chrome stripping replace also. I had all the rubber gaskets in the trunk and hood replaced along with all rubber door gaskets replaced as well. Doors open and close perfectly. The trunk has a very nice rare luggage rack and gives it such a great look to the over all vehicle. I have added a nice pair of amber fog lights to the front. It has the very cool European side marker lights. The front spoiler is an Ireland Engineering front spoiler. The rear sports a painted old school European Bumper in the Galaxy Blue. This is my 5th BMW 02 series I have owned and by far the most with style. Heads turn at every street corner for this awesome little ride. It looks cool and drivers great with very nice handling. Now that I've done my work and had my fun with this awesome 40 year old car, it is time to send it on to it's next owner. This car is one of the finer 02 out there so please bid responsibly. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call JD at 209 229 6522. I require a $500 non returnable deposit 24 hours after auction ends and require that the car be payed for and picked up within 7 days after auctions end. Thank you and good luck.On Jul-06-13 at 20:56:36 PDT, seller added the following information: Just wanted to also inform you of something I had left out. I forgot to mention that the radiator is an ungraded BMW 320i OEM radiator giving it that much more cooling capacity. I have been looking at all the other 02's out there for sale and if you will look and compare yourself you will also see and notice just how nice and clean this 02 is. This car is an awesome example of the 1974 BMW 2002 and can be driven cross country..... I know, I've done it in my very first 02, a 1974 dark green 2002TII which I still have and is waiting for it's turn for complete restoration. Thanks again for looking and GOOD LUCK BIDDING!!!
